Hi gang...My first post to this board. I just installed MF7Pro. I go back to Ulead Disk Creator 3 in versions purchased, and just like the way they all suited my needs until now. I always try to burn my disks at the slowest speed possible. But this new version has that option ghosted for both DVD and Blu-Ray burning. It works in version 6Pro. Is there a solution? Acording to the help file, it should be accessible. I have 2 burners, an ASUS 24B1ST for DVD's and a Pioneer BDR-206 for Blu-Ray and it works on neither. The info shows I'm at version 7.00.398.2 Any Ideas?
Thanks...Bruce

Sadly it does not allow changing the burn speed. We don't know why, it just doesn't.

Wow...unbelievable. Has anyone contacted Corel? If not, then I'll fire off a question.

Re: MovieFactory 7pro burning speed problem
Hi Gang...Just a little update. I contacted Corel about the speed burning bug, and they wrote back that as a workaround to this known problem, I should create an Image File, and then burn that with burn.now. I wrote back a second time and asked them when the fix was going to be provided and they responded with "unknown" So there you have it. What makes this so important to me is that research seems to point to home burn DVD's possibly having a longer shelf life if burned at the slowest speed. I don't know how true it is, but it's painless enough.

Re: MovieFactory 7pro burning speed problem
Unknown=never with this program. We understand this, as DVD MF 7 was originally never to be released in the US. In fact I think that Australia was about the only country that it was originally released to. It wasn't until the foobar with VS X3, they released DVD MF7 Pro again, and in more places than just Australia.
With that said, and that VS X4 once again is using the integrated "burn module", like all previous versions (except VS X3), it could be possible that Coel tries to retire DVD MF7 Pro once again. So I wouldn't hold my breath for any further patches to it. ...

Dangit...I really like the way I've been able to use it for my specific needs. All they have to do is go back to MF6 and emulate that section of code. Damn Corel!!! Back to the drawing board. Hey Ron, who do you have winning it all in March Madness??? I have Kansas & Ohio St. in the final

Re: MovieFactory 7pro burning speed problem
For several versions now, I have use a workflow of not burning a disc in VS, but "burning" a DVD folder instead. Then I usually use Nero to burn the actual disc (or any other program capable of burning a DVD Folder). I use this method, not because of burning speed problems (though the MF 7 one is an added annoyance), but because it gives me the opportunity to play the Folder back on a software DVD player to check that it all looks OK. I have sometimes avoided wasting a disc that way when I have found some little thing needing correction before the whole project is committed to an actual disc.
It is much easier to play back a DVD Folder than an ISO file on software players, though admittedly, apart from that, the two serve much the same purpose.

Re: MovieFactory 7pro burning speed problem
Hey Ken...until I bought my new camera, which was in December, I had used MSP8 for my editing and encoding, and MovieFactory6 Plus for my burning. For my home project, I captured all the home video I ever had, (More than you can imagine) edited and encoded all of that into individual event segments. I encoded the files at a vbr 6000 bitrate setting, and then would author a DVD with menus. I burned around 1:30 per disk, packaged 4 disks to a case, named each event segment for what it was, created a case cover giving each set a sequential number, and then databased each segment in chronological order. I used these as my master files and from there I could create specialty sets by simply grabbing whatever segment I wanted with MovieFactory, and authoring a new disk. For instance, this Christmas I made a set for each of my family members, (Mom, Sisters, Nieces & Nephews) of everything I ever taped with them in it. I started taping in 1982 and I taped every family event we ever had. So these sets were quite large, but it was easy using my system. So I never used VS for anything. MSP is the best editor ever, but when Corel bought Ulead and dropped MSP, I knew I would eventually have to migrate to something else, especially for HD and Windows 7 purposes. If it turns out that Corel doesn't fix MF7, I am going to be pissed. I had no idea that MF7 was just some sort of stopgap release or I wouldn't have purchased it. I guess I'll just stop there
