I'm new to that platform, but very familar with with a lot of MSP versions from 2 to 7 since 1996 and DVD Movie Factories from 2, 3 up to 6 - which done a very fine job for me and i could get some money with films and DVDs processed with above products over the years.
I upgraded my hardware different times to just now Quad processors.
I never will understand, that the real fine MSP must die for the much poorer and basic VideoStudio (i had tested the products of all the others periodically, but MSP seems the best solution for my needs).
At least VS X4 (and earlier versions) are/is a bad combination of VideoStudio and DVD Movie Factory - bad designed on the dark style known from Adobes products.
Why the user cannot start the DMF component as a standalone application alike DMF6 or DMF7, where i only started the DVD-component without the terrible launcher?
That for my long background on such products.
All worked fine for me until i switched over to digital TV-SAT equipment, where neither MSP nor DMF can handle *.ts (transport stream) files in the different resolution from 576i, 576p and obove.
Naturly i can convert them to *.PS streams with VLC and/or reduce the bitrate in addition, that it works afterwards with MSP and DMF. But that takes additional time and space and the conversion function don't look for additional language streams.
Another free product called "MaxRecode" can handle such language streams very well, but will produce a "ready" mpeg file, what DMF will calculate again completely - independend of identical parameters.
In addition the free products supports the addional cores. Why don't DMF6 and/or VS X4?
So i ended (not really lucky) actual with VSX4 - which does the job byself (but i don't tested videos with mor languages in the stream) with its terrible and dark user interface - where i only had a need for something alike a standalone DMF 8 without all the crop around.
@For the Corel representatives here:
1. Support for "better" processors Dual Core and Quads) seems to be very poor.
"Free" products show, how it can work
2. That dark design of the user interface is real terrible. On the first view it looks chic, but to work with is for me a horror.
Functionality and bugfree is mor important than a "nice design".
3. Give us the DMF component to start as a standalone.
BTW - i'm writing from germany. Therefor i beg your pardon for my terrible english.
regards Martin
