SHARE/EXPORT/DV REC in VS8 = SHARE/PROJECT PLAYBACK in VS9?

Post by mell »

Hi, wondered if anyone has noticed the following:

My objective is simple. Sometimes I wish to transfer a project back to DV tapes and simply EXPORTed (SHARE/EXPORT/DV Recording) rendered AVI formats to DV in VS8, which works perfectly.

In VS9, it's a whole different story. Ulead has now changed the interface and DV Recording is a stand-alone function under SHARE. Problem is, I can never get beyond the NEXT button in the 1st screen. Invariably, the program will shut down after that. Unlike some who have experienced Capture problems in VS9, mine works fine from day 1. I have not got DV Recording to work despite numerous uninstallation/reinstallation cycles.

SURPRISE! SURPRISE!

While toying around with new functions in VS9 not seen before in VS8, I played with the SHARE/Project Playback function and found that if I drop an AVI file into the timeline, it'll allow me to export to DVcam with exactly the same Device Remote Control/Record interface when one exports to DV under VS8. And this export works perfectly.

HA! What's happening here?

Just wish to hear from anyone here who has successfully exported to DV thru the intended route of SHARE/DV RECORDING in VS9 - which will convince me that my installation has gone wrong time and again; and that it's not a Ulead VS9 software bug.

In the meantime, the SHARE/PROJECT PLAYBACK route is a perfectly workable solution for anyone with the same needs. And the interface looks suspiciously like the same set of program codes that Export to DV in VS8 has.

Cheers and thanks.
