Chapter markers useless now with DMF 7 SE ?

With VSX3 DVD production done by DMF 7 SE , are chapter markers added in the project timeline useless as we have to redo all chapters when transfered by VSX3 into DMF 7 SE ? or is there a way to have the markers trigger a chapter as before ?

The only code shared between MF 7 SE and X3 AFAIK is that which allows MF 7 to show in a drop down Share menu of X3... So no, any chapter markers included in a video clip produced in X3 and then opened in MF 7 for burning are lost. FWIW, I never used the chapter marking system in preceding versions of VS either, preferring in any case to set the chapters in the burning module (or MF 7)...

In DMF7, have you tried the Insert scenes as chapters? If so did it place markers at about the same place you had previously set the chapter marks in VS X3? I ask this because it has been possible to at least have the marks recognized, then all that needs to be done is to rename them.

Ron -- a genuinely interested question. How was it possible to have chapter marks, inserted originally in X3, recognised in a final video clip rendered in X3, rather than in a project file which is not recognised by MF 7?

I'm not sure it works 100% of the time, but I've done a project or two, where I've placed the chapter marks in VS X3. Then rendered my DVD MPEG-2 file. When I inserted that file into DVDMF7, then used the Insert Scenes it seen the chapter marks as scenes. Probably a fluke that it worked.

In fact I just fired up DVDMF 7, located an older file that I had chapter marks placed in VS X3. Inserted that file, when to Add/Edit chapters, and then Auto Add Chapter, and then Insert scenes as chapters. It recognized the chapter marks as scenes.
