Windvd has no audio option for 5.1 outout

Post by pacemaker1000 »

hi
on my system i use SPDIF output but require Windvd to output 5.1 analogue to input to Reclock which ten outputs it to SPDIF
in the Audio options inlike all other players i do not have the choice of 5.1 or7.1 output which i require. i read somewhere that Windvd only supplies the options that have been setip in windows which correctly is SPDIF. this however does not help my problem as without the analogue choice the software is inadaquate
is there a workaround?
thanks

OK
i have discovered that the WinDVD audio menu sets itself automatically to whatever your sound card is set up to which in my case is SPDIF. However this appears to be a huge over-site by Corel and renders the software useless to me and others who use Reclock. this requires the software player to putput analogue audio so enable Reclock to adjust it and then re-encode back to digital
while it might make setup easier for the beginner this feature is disabling for the rest of us
