Hi
Success
First of all I was running X3 fully patched from the programs auto updates,
As you know this caused some Mov project playback problems.
I have just installed the old VSProX3_Patch2.exe. (33.438kb) I had downloaded this file some time ago. This was afaik the original patch.
My Mov files are playing as OK
I have now checked for updates and the system wants to install
VideoStudio Pro X3,
Service Patch 2
“To get improved program and stability and compatibility.”
Now I’m a glutton for punishment, (maybe stupid) so I gave it a go.
However although I choose Download Update Now nothing happens other than the window closing.
So my programs working, and the updates are confused………………
I am 100% convinced that the update patch is causing this problem.
Sound is skipping in VS#3

Thanks for the suggestion of trying an earlier version of Quicktime. I may try it if I have time on the weekend, but I have to be careful of what effect this has on other software. I use PTGUI Pro to make spherical pans that display using Quicktime, so I have to be sure this change won't open a whole new can of worms with its workflow that took a big effort to polish up.
Converting to MP4 ahead of VSP editing might be the best fix right now, it's just a matter of finding a conversion software that will do that job in addition to converting 60fps to 50% speed 30fps to make some usable slow-mo clips. Just a dream, I expect. Does anyone know if converting a MOV (that the camera used mpeg-4 avc/h.264 compression to create) to MP4 causes any deterioration in video quality?
