Hello,
I have Paintshop Photo Pro X3 on an HP Pavilion Slimline, Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, Core i3, 8GM RAM, 500GB HD. Windows Updates are turned off. AVG Anti Virus 2011 is installed. When I try to open PSP Pro X3 from the start menu nothing happens, the little circle pops up like the old hour glass in XP but it goes away after a few seconds.
Can someone make a suggestion as to how I can fix this and use my program?
Thanks for your help,
Peter

Have you tried temporarily turning off AVG? Or adding an exception for Paint Shop Pro ? It's possible that's the reason but then again it's hard to say.
Open up the task manager, is PSP recorded in the list of active processes?
Otherwise I've got nothing else short of attempting to reinstall. I'm sure better suggestions are on the way.

Try holding down the Shift key as you start PSP, and click OK when you're asked if you want to reset PSP to its default state.

Hello petergibons,
I'm using AVG and I can use PSP X3 without any conflicts. Other solution that you can take is to just perform a clean reinstallation of the program. To do that just follow the steps from this KB Article : http://corel.custhelp.com/app/answers/d ... _id/764391

I had the same problem and it appears to be a conflict with the latest AMD Display Driver. I rolled back my display driver to version 8.920.0.0 from 11/9/2011 and it is working again. My graphics card is an AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series.
