There seems to be an issue with edits to DVD menus not being saved properly. This is in addition to the chapter names problem I've read about.
Whatever changes I make to the menu in the Create Disc dialog, such as adding a graphic and changing text to the Main menu, are lost upon closing the Create Disc dialog and returning back to the VSPX4 Share workspace.
In short, this is my workaround:
1. Save the current project (File > Save).
2. Click Share > Create Disc.
3. After the Create Disc dialog pops up, remove the movie that's labeled "Untitled."
4. Add the .VSP project just saved.
5. Add chapters, edit the menu text, and so forth.
6. Click the "Close" button.
The DVD chapter markers will update on the VS timeline. Previous chapter markers on the timeline are deleted.
I now want to see if the edits to the menu have been saved, so:
7. Click Share > Create Disc again.
8. Remove the movie labeled "Untitled." That always comes back.
Edits I made the last time are still there.
9. Continue with adding chapter markers, editing the menu...
With my strategy, all chapter markers have to be added in the Create Disc dialog. Chapter markers on the timeline in the VS Edit workspace get passed to the Create Disc dialog, but they are associated with the movie labeled "Untitled" which I delete. There is no point in adding chapter markers to the timeline in the VS Edit workspace.

Re: X4 DVD Menu Changes Not Saved Properly
After No. 6 - click close button - do you then get a pop up which says 'Saving Project' - this is not saving your project - none of us is exactly sure what that pop-up means - so before you re-open the Create Disc option you need to go 'File >> Save' to save any changes you have just made including retaining the correct video in the create disc timeline..
Can you confirm that you have saved the project after exiting the create disc module - or if you have not done so could you try it and let us know the result.

Re: X4 DVD Menu Changes Not Saved Properly
After I click the "CLose" button there is a pop-up "saving project" and progress bar. There is a file that is updated, but it is a temporary file named something like PRJ_CREATEDISC.VSPTEMP.vsp in this directory on my system:
C:\Documents and Settings\Kingston\My Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\14.0
The file is impossible to read.
I do a File > Save before I go to the Create Disc dialog. I've also done a File > Save after coming back, but I don't know if that actually helps.
I'll play with it some more.

Re: X4 DVD Menu Changes Not Saved Properly
I'll go one further than Brian's suggestion..
Your #3, where you remove the movie labled untitled, and then insert the saved VSP. What you done was remove the VSP file and added the same VSP file. When you jump straight into the burn module, you are using the VSP, not a movie. The problem with VS X4 in this regard, is the project file, even if it is saved, provided a name, in the editor, the VSP file name is not being displayed in the burn module.
Also the Chapter marks and names, was discussed previously, where just closing the burn module, will remove any names associated with the chapter marks, replacing it with a duplication of the time stamp. For example, if you had a chapter mark at 00:02:10-Mountain Climbing, it would then show, 00:02:10-00:02:10. Corel is aware of this, and at some point will be releasing a patch. How soon, no one knows.

Re: X4 DVD Menu Changes Not Saved Properly
When I add the .VSP in the burn module, the name of the .VSP file is what is showing for the label of the movie, and is the text on the main menu. But if I change the text on the main menu, it stays that way from then on.
I only have to add the .VSP file once. It is still there the next time I go back to the burn module (Create Disc dialog). The "untitled" movie is like you say, the movie I have been editing. Unfortunately things are working out for it and I've dismissed it until further notice.
Fortunately the names of the chapters I manually enter on the chapter menu persist. If I were working with the "untitled" movie, those chapter names would not be there the next time.
If I insert a chapter mark in the burn module, all the chapter names on the chapter menu associated with subsequent chapter marks are reset to "Chapterxx." All preceding chapter names stay untouched.

Re: X4 DVD Menu Changes Not Saved Properly
Interesting, so by replacing the untitled VSP, with the one you saved, the chapter marks will be there? What I was referring to is back in the editor, open the Chapter Manager, and see if the Chapter names are there, or have been replaced by the double-time stamp.Fortunately the names of the chapters I manually enter on the chapter menu persist. If I were working with the "untitled" movie, those chapter names would not be there the next time.
One other thing that I've noticed along this line, is that in the editor, when I've created a video file that had all my chapter marks, before entering the burn module, the chapter marks were not even seen or recognized. In the past I've opened the Add/Edit Chapters, selected Add Scenes as chapters, and the burn module would see my chapter marks as scenes. Now however that is not working.

Re: X4 DVD Menu Changes Not Saved Properly
After coming back from the burn module, the Chapter Manager shows the time code for the chapter name for corresponding chapter marks. But the text I entered on the Chapter menu in the burn module is saved somewhere in the .VSP file, it's just not being transferred to the Chapter Manager.

Re: X4 DVD Menu Changes Not Saved Properly
Hi
I have just run a test and managed to keep the chapter points.
1 / Started a new project (untitled)
2 / Share Create Disc-DVD
3 / Add a VSP called Gir
4 / Add Edit chapter points—Auto add chapter points at 3 minutes interval
5 / Ok then Next
6 / Choose Currently displayed menu shows with my VSP name as Gir
7 / Edit the link names on preview screen
8 / Edit link names on Main Menu
9 / Closed the module, returns to empty edit window
10 / Saved the project as “test chapter points”.
11/ The chapter points manager is empty???????????
12 / Just to make sure all was clear I rebooted the program
Opening this project again then Share Create Disc -- DVD returns to burner module
All menu structure and chapter points in tact.
I have to say the I wouldn’t normally use a VSP but render it out to a video file, then ADD video file.
Now whether adding chapter points during the editing still retains them need further investigation?????????
