Upgrade to enable AVI H.264 editing?

Hi

If Smart Proxy is taking so long, (I assume this is with X4) then VS is having trouble reading the files, I gather the files are Div-X H264.
Have you purchased the DivX package, (as mentioned by Ken) I would have thought this would install the correct codecs for this video type.

Did the camera come with a software package, if yes, have you installed it? this also may provide the correct codecs.
Although camera manufacturers do sell the product without thought of editing the video.

I have a similar problem with a Canon D7 using Quicktime H264, not fully recognised although I can edit.
I can however render to other formats, using the standard template Bluray h264 1920 x 1080 seemed to work ok.

Can you try converting the video.
First turn off Smart Proxy, then VS isn’t trying to do two things at once, Mind you my wife can.

Then Insert a video clip to timeline, Share Create Video File- Bluray h264 1920 x 1080

You could try the other HD options to see which works the best.
