Aspect ratio not correct plus wavy lines
I have downloaded a trial version of MF7 and when viewing the DVD it is showing in 4x3 and not 16x9 as per the edit, plus there is wavy lines on all straight edges and actors. I have edited the project in Edius 5.5 and the 3 cameras were Sony Z5 the out put on all 3 cameras are 1440x1080. When encoding I used DVCHD Pro 50i. Because of the problems I have encounted I have also encoded in VOB, straight AVI, Canopus lossness and Canopus HQ. The end product is always the same, even though the project is in 16x9 it is 4x3 on the DVD and wavy lines . When in MF7 as you know you can get the properties of each clip by right clicking, this I have done and every clip is showing 1440x1080. In the pre play window in MF7 it is showing in 4x3. To prove that I have not confused MF7 I have created another project, kept it very simple but the result is always the same. When viewing the DVD it looks as if it is playing a 16x9 in a 4x3 window. The wavy lines are running vertically on the edges of the person or object. I am now bald, and feeling a lot older, please help. Thanks Denzil

Welcome to the forums,
Have you checked a couple of places in DMF 7? First would be the lower-left corner. It displays the aspect ratio for your project. Next would be clicking the Gear icon (project settings), to see if it is set to the correct aspect ratio.

Re: Aspect ratio not correct plus wavy lines
If you are burning a standard def DVD, why are you first producing what appears to be a HDV which uses 1440 x 1080 as its frame size? It is, of course, an anamorphic frame size, but displays as 1920 x 1080 in its HD version. But I suspect that it is the anamorphic nature of the video frame size which could be causing your problems when it is converted to SD mpeg-2.
I realise you may be producing the 1440 x 1080 video for other purposes, but why don't you use Edius or one of your other programs to first render the project into SD video format, and then insert that SD mpeg-2 into MF 7 to see if that makes a difference. Bit of a hassle, I know, and extra time. But hey! Who said video editing was supposed to be fast and easy!!

Re: Aspect ratio not correct plus wavy lines
Thanks to everyone one for the suggestions. I have looked at all the settings and they are all correct for the project being produced. I have produced several projects for test purposes and all are the same. It is so frustrating and time consuming I am going to call it a day and look at another programme unless someone can come up with a solution. I have tried the help line for Corel but unless you have a product that is registered with them and it has an email address with it they can't help. As this is a 30 day trial download I do not fit their requirements, so that is another brick wall I have run into. Thanks for everyone that has assisted with this problem. Denzil
