I'll take boring if everything works correctly.Of course we all have different experiences, that's what makes it interesting!

Re: AVI HD problems
My Canon camcorder is a Vixia HF11, which I got in November 2008. It does indeed record MTS files... I have it set for the 17 Mpbs data speed, although it can also do 24 Mpbs. Although this unit is quite old by consumer technology standards, I still use it all the time and have easily earned back several times its cost. Since I got it so long ago, I don't remember the transfer software that it came with... and I'll be too busy over the next few days to look.mitchell65 wrote:Hi Bob
Just out of interest was the file transfer software that came with your Canon HD camera "Corel Guide Menu"? Also are your files from your Canon .MTS files?
I've been lusting after the somewhat larger Canon Vixia S series (S-HF200, S-HF21, etc.) but can't quite pull the trigger to buy one.
I use the S-HF200 at work and it's been great. (Believe it or not, I make videos about cell phones, which get posted on YouTube. I spend my days shooting these videos, editing them with VS3, posting the videos on YouTube, then answering questions about the phones! You can see one at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHC2ksMlGx0.)

Re: AVI HD problems
Hi, Bob.....that Kyocera is an impressive fone...who needs a computer?

I'm impressed with what you've done with VS. Can you give us a quick stepBYstep on how you assemble one of your vids?
TIA,
Walt

Sorry for the slow response, but I'm on vacation this week and getting access to the Internet is tough.wstagner wrote:Hi, Bob.....that Kyocera is an impressive fone...who needs a computer?

My phone videos are very basic from an editing standpoint -- simple transitions, basic graphics and nothing I can think of that is unusual. If there's anything in particular that I've done in the video above that you want to know about, let me know and I'll describe how I did it. It should probably go in a new thread, so that we keep this one on-topic.

Re: AVI HD problems
I thought I should advise a little more on my progress with this but I don’t intend to spend much more time on this problem and don’t expect any one else to.
In a previous post I suggested that I should try making a video file from the project that would not play properly in project mode. As might be expected it produced the same fault in the video file and along the way the program froze and requested I send DMP file to Corel - see new thread.
On another tack, using AVS4you I converted my original AVI files that VSX4 would not recognise. An option under convert to AVI was an MPEG4 file similar in properties, that would play on VS. I also tried a convert to FLV option that produced a file that VSX4 would not load, displaying the window ‘file format mismatch’. So I think that is enough of a foray into HD for the time being.
Thanks to all who had input
Regards, Peter
