I'm new to VS4 and am trying out the 30-day trial. I have a recorded HD TV clip that I am editing by making clips and adding transitions. However, after editing my audio now appears to be the Spanish SAP sub-channel. How do I get the main US audio channel back...I'm sure it's still there, but just not the selected audible one.
Please help as I like ease of use and quality of this product, but won't be buying with a problem like this.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Re: VS4 Pro Wrong Audio Channel
Hi and welcome to the forums!
I have the suspicion that you have captured one of those multi-channel HDV or AVCHD videos which come original in the transport stream .ts or .tp format, but it would be useful if you could right click on one of the files in the VS timeline or library window, and copy ALL its properties here please.
But if so, VS can usually only identify what the video itself identifies as the main audio channel and make that available for editing. The only program I know of -- though there will undoubtedly be more! -- that can separate out the audio channels is a commercial program called Video ReDo. But that would cost you an extra $50.
How exactly did you capture the clip in the first place, and did the device come with its own software which allows it to be converted to program stream mpeg-2 or mpeg-4?

Re: VS4 Pro Wrong Audio Channel
Ken, thanks for the quick reply, and here's the more detailed information that you requested.
1) The video was recorded via SageTV (720p OTA ABC channel) into an MPG container with the following details
File format: MPEG-2
File Size: 32 GB
Duration: 18000 seconds
Video Type: MPEG-2 Video
Total frames: 1,078,960
Attributes: 24 bits, 1280x720, 16:9
Frame rate: 59.940 frames/sec
Data rate: Variable bit rate (Max 28800 kbps)
Audio Type: Dolby Digital Audio
Total Samples: 864,032,032 Samples
Attributes: 48000 Hz
Layer: None
Bit rate: 192 kbps
2) While I could have SageTV convert it to another format, I'm trying to edit the file in it's native format before converting it to Blu-Ray, so as to preserve the highest quality.
Any and all help is MUCH appreciated!
Thanks again,
Stach

Re: VS4 Pro Wrong Audio Channel
Have you looked in the Menu for your TV or your SageTV to see what language is set for them? Just a thought, but I know that with most nowadays you there's a variety of languages, and it may have Spanish set by default.
