Corel Instant viewer
Hello,
Just installed Corel PaintShop Photo Pro X3. Still trying it out, but so far we like it. System now has Corel instant viewer(CIV) set-up to quick view pictures, which is fine. But we are set up to receive faxes in TIF format. When i open fax, CIV only show first page without any possibility to view the others. Is that normal ? Can I do something to view my TIF correctly or it's multiple pages?
By the way, so far I like better CIV than windows base photo viewer.
Thank you
Have a nice day

Re: Corel Instant viewer
No, CIV is pretty much what you see.
I personally never liked it so I removed it as the default. Had to specifically go back through and purposely start it up to access the help files. It's a very straight foward, what you see is what you get type viewer.

Re: Corel Instant viewer
I changed the default program settings for all image formats associated with CIV using the default programs control panel.

Hello Pstonge,
Just to add to what Levi gave you, to change the default viewer of your Windows 7, just right-click on the TIF image then select OPEN WITH > then select CHOOSE DEFAULT PROGRAM... On the next window that will appear, make sure that "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file." option is checked then select Windows Photo Viewer on the list then click OK.

Re: Corel Instant viewer
How does one disable Corel Instant Viewer on Windows XP Pro without reassociating all file types?

I don't know of a way to disable it other than re-associating the file types. Here's a link that shows you how to do it through the control panel as well as the previously mentioned right-click method.

Re: Corel Instant viewer
I like CIV's display and the thumbnail previews; however, the thumbnail previews also create two problems for me:
- First: I have several very LARGE folders containing very LARGE images. The lockout that occurs while CIV is creating thumbnails is not acceptable. The process needs both to be interruptable. and turn-off-able and executed at a low dispatch priority.
- Bee: Some of my folders contain private photos that I do not want to be automatically displayed. So again, the thumbnail previews need to be turn-off-able.
So because the thumbnail previews are not turn-off-able and because CIV's creation of the thumbnails locks up my computer, I have reluctantly decided to go through my default programs and entirely remove CIV as the default viewer.
