Adding camera flash effect

Hi
Does anyone know an easy way of adding a camera flash effect to a VS project rather than refilming it? I am using VSx3

Drag a white color clip to the timeline, placing it between the images or clips where you want the flash to occur. Place a cross-fade transition between the white color clip and the others. Now you may need to shorten the duration of the transitions and the white color clip, making them around 15 frames. Do this using the digital clock for the clip duration.
