Error message - 'Load from stream error'

Am getting error message 'Load from stream error' when opening Studio 9. then going to >Edit>Video. After clicking on error message about 20 times, error message disappears, accompanied by a lot of white crossed out rectangles in Right Hand Pane where clips usually appear. If I attempt to delete these 'clips' the error message returns and the cycle starts again. How can I eliminate this problem and get back to using program normally?
