Audio file creating

Post by artyom »

Hi,

I'd like to cut off a single song from the movie soundtrack. So I've splitted video and audio and selected the song by F3+F4 abd now I assume I have to go to "Share" and select "Create audio file", right?

The matter fact when I do and the program starts saving the file I have a suspicious it saves the whole movie soundtrack, but the phragment I've just cut off:-(

The video tutorial suggests that the program treats audio and video the pretty same way, but I see that it doesn't:-) I can not put cut sound piece at sound edit line and save it as a trimmed file.

Have you played back the file it creates to confirm your suspicion? It should only create the sound file from what is on the timeline.

Well, I've choosen WMA format and set 128 kb quality (what a pity I can't set MP3:-) ), the song is only about 2 minutes long but the file I got after I had given up waiting and clicked cancel (it goes quickly to 67% and the get really slow) is more then 35 mb - I don't think it's the song only plus when I opened the file - a silence....

Do not split the audio from your video - use F3 and F4 to set the length of your song - a red line will appear at the top of the timeline to indicate the selected portion - now under the 'Share' tab choose "Create Sound File' - a dialogue box will appear so that you can choose where to save it - what to call it - and what format (.wav .wma etc.) - when you click OK UVS will appear to be rendering your file - it is simply extracting the sound - once it has finished you can use 'My Computer' and browse to the folder you specified to find your sound file
