Transitions in X4

Post by DanVM »

I'm looking for assistance in performing the following tasks:

1. Adding transitions to an entire video/stills track or a range of clips/stills with a duration of less than one second. This would surely be possible if there were a "ripple" option like in other packages but I've yet to find such a feature.

2. Removing transitions from a range of clips/stills without having to use "undo" or selecting each transition individually.

Right click on the transition you want to use and then select "Apply current effect to video track". This will insert the transition between all clips.

I don't know of a way to remove them all though.
Now using Adobe Premiere and Photoshop

I'm aware of how to add a transition to an entire video track but not with a duration of less than 1 second. For a slide show, a 1 second transition is just far too long.

What you need to do is adjust the duration using the digital clock. Click on the adjustments arrows (up,down). What is the duration of your images? When you drag the clips so they overlap, you can control the duration in this manner too. If you have very short clips/images, you may need to zoom-in the time-line. Right-click on the increments above to get specific amounts, or use the slider to zoom in and out.

I understand it can be done one transition at a time but I've found no way to do it for an entire video track. Take a slide show, for example, where you have several stills at 4 seconds each. You can add a fade transition between each still all at once but are forced to have a transition duration of 1 second or longer. Again, this is far too long for a slide show in my opinion.

That is correct.
