DVD Worshop 2 crashed 4 X a day. Help???

Post by TurboMS »

I do not know if Ulead DVD workshop 2 patches have properly embedded.

I ask because my DVD workshop 2 is very unstable and keeps crashing and none of my other applications do this. Therfore it is not a Windows Xp problem and I defrag 2X a day with Disk Keeper 9 pro.

Possible source of the problem: Previous PC died after 5 years and I upgraded to a Dell XPS Gen 4 desktop tricked out for video production.

I loaded DVD W@ from CD, however instead of downloading the Ulead patches to make current (Ibought originals 2 months ago) I copied the folder of the Ulead patches that were on my video laptop and ran these expecutables on the new Dell one after another to save time. I did not download them but ran them from the burned DVD I created of the patches. DVD W2 crashed 4 times today and I get a Windows error that is so fast I cannot read it. None of my other Ulead products have this problem. I have no problems on my video laptop with Ulead products.

I transferred the executable from my video laptop and did not download it but I do not the executable for the DVD workshop 2 that way.

SO 2 questions:

Sounds like you have a bad update patch -- try downloading it again and running the install from the new download...

p.s. what are the 2 questions???

My Workshop crashes were caused by feeding it corrupt MPEG files. In my case it would crash fairly regularly when I was setting chapter points. I learned to save frequently!!!

These corrupted MPEGs also resulted in DVDs with the dreaded A/V sync problem.

Once I stopped using Video Studo to edit (and corrupt) my MPEGs, I have not had any crashes, and my audio sync problems are gone too.
