I have not tried it in X4; but my experience in X3 is that while you can create a 60ps template for output, the editor itself cannot deal with 60fps video at all.
Maybe you should try it in X4...
Ken Berry wrote:I continued to press Corel on this, even though I don't have a camcorder which produces 50/60p video clips. At last, I got an answer which was straight to the point. X4 can accept 1080p clips at 50/60p for editing.

As suggested in the past.....

A drawing tool bar in Painting Creator that allows you to draw a straight line or basic objects much like the Drawing tool bar in MS Word.
This would be nice.
I love how the Painting Creator works and use it often.
It would be so much more powerful if you could insert objects and draw straight lines with maybe preset arrows?

And my other one was to be able to use video made specifically for the Video Menu rather than selecting actual video from one of the projects that is to be added to the disk.
I don't like giving away tib bits of what's on the DVD while they look at the menu.
I'd like to create a video that maybe made up of several separate small pieces of the disks contents or something completely different all together that plays during the menu.

Cheers

Hi, you can create it in VideoStudio and use it as a Background movie in your menu. Don't choose SmartMenu for this. Text menu will be better.
You can also put the Menu Titel in VS while putting your background menu movie together. Then hide all the text when doing menu creation and only the play buttons will show with your background movie playing.

When rendering any project with AVCHD clips, VS X4 always terminates abnormally. The project is rendered correctly, so the abnormal termination is happening when returning to the program. I find that if the Smart Render is not checked in the options when creating the file, then this does not occur. The program offers no way to permanently turn Smart Render off, and this should be in the Preferences somewhere. Of course the bug of abnormal termination should be fixed too... Al

I cannot replicate your so called "bug" with SmartRender either active or disabled, and I do quite a lot of AVCHD renders. But as you will well recall, I always recommend people not use it with AVCHD (or HDV for that matter).

But your idea for switching off SmartRender -- as you can with SmartProxy -- is a good one, and Preferences would probably be the place to do it.

I have a Panasonic HVX200. I would really really like to see support for the HD codecs and the MXF format used by P2 cards.

Included "skins" to change the overall look/feel. This would allow those who prefer the dark look begun in X3 to keep it and maybe throw those uf us who prefer the X2 gray look a "bone."

Raise the price of the program by $49 retail if it means more bug fixes, and features implemented from this wish list. Open beta testing of new versions to a wider group. There are obviously MANY on this forum who could provide a ton of feedback just by USING the program.

I guess it's a matter of interpretation. This thread was started when VS X4 was released, so it is actually for VS X5.

Importing of all transitions, effects, text clips, libraries from the previously installed version. Meaning it would be nice if during installation of a new software version (X3 to X4 or to X5) that it searches the previous version's folders and asks if you'd like to import those items into the new version.

That way each upgrade or new version install could still be a fresh install, the older version is preserved, and the new version would have add-ons or helpful creations you had in the previous version.

I would like to be able to select multiple clips and change the volume on all of them at the same time rather than one by one...

OPTIONS panel stay open by default :
In VSX3 , contrarily to X2 , the OPTIONS panel is constantly minimized to a blue button on the right side of it instead of staying opened by default as we moved from one clip to another . It requires constant mouse clicking on the blue button to restore the options panel each time, a time waster while editing. To restore /increase efficiency, please consider having the Options Panel stay open by default and/or a way to lock-it open by the user if desired. Thanks ! (:D)

Yes, the brains at Corel made a lot of changes and it seems they don't listen to us users or this forum and that they don't really use this program else they would know these things. There are lots of features that made editing video easier that they seem to take away as they make changes and improvements.

I posted my issue with disc menu templates in another post but will add here that Corel needs to add the same disc menu templates that we have in DVD to AVCHD and Bluray just as we had in previous versions. And while your at it... you know those templates we had in VS X3 under DVD Factory Pro 2010? You know, the same templates we don't have under disc authoring in X4 but do have as "instant project" templates under the editing program?!? Add those and make some new better ones for all disc formats in VS X5 (or fix X4 and give them to us now). Even better, give us the ability to create our own disc menus and apply them to what ever disc format we choose to use!

Ken ,
can I suggest that in your instructions for posting on the VS Wish List. we should include a one-line title summarizing the topic or suggestion made to the wish list so that we have an idea of what each post is all about . This would avoid having to read all the thread before determining if a new post is required or not as the topic may already have been covered by someone else. It will also be easier for the Corel developpers to relate to each suggestion in the thread and easily find the new added ones. Suggest that the title should be BOLD and UNDERLINED at the beginning of the post (as in my March 18th one)
Thanks !
