Dear Sir,

1) In the SHARE / CREATE DISC / DVD... VSP limits the MENU BACKGROUND MUSIC to only 30 seconds.

This time limit is a BAD feature. It´s too small.

Other softwares permit music in it´s entire duration,
as an example the .. old... WIN DVD CREATOR.

Consider to permit longer duration times.

I´ve seen many other people with this consideration.

2) Come back the .. SAVE PROJECT Button... while creating a DVD.

In the olds DVD FACTORY PRO 2010... and... DVD Movie Factory 7
there were this button.

The way it functions in the VSP X4 it´s a bad idea...

Thanks,

Valmir

My 5 but very wanted wishes:

1. The time resolution for audio is not high enough.

When editing films I often insert a lot of pictures and then make the pictures shift in rythm of music.
1/24 second is not enough for that purpose. 1/48 would be great and should be pretty easy to implement with "backwords compability" to older versions as well..

2. Some "auto lenght" picture timing so they change in rythm to music would be very welcome.

3. When clicking on editing sound volume on track (in "sound mode") the value changes imidiately - please make it so it first change when you drag the volumen line.

4. Please make it able to import a project into another project (e.g. 2 edited films in same editor) and not just change project completely.

5. Option for moving a chosen selection with all objects (videos, text, pictures, sound) up or down the timeline.

6. Keep it simple as now. This program is SO intuitive to use :)

Thanks for letting me write this as my first post on this forum :)

MSP had a function on the F9 key, Return to previous zoom. This made for a nice work flow, Zoom in, edit cut point and transition, zoom out (with f9) find next point, repeat

Maybe correct some errors/weakies of X4:
- rubber band volume control nearly unusable (dots jump in 0.2-0.4 dB steps)
- rubber band only affects "project preview", not clip preview
- no "track volume control", to set volume for the whole track, I have to set every clip individually
- audio filters do not affect video track - but if you separate audio from video, it gets out of sync when moving one of both parts.
- stereo mixer can set rubber band but only when playing (no "snapshot"), really not exact to push down noise

Since MSP was dropped as a product by Corel at least a couple of years ago, I doubt very much that they are going to invest any money to include the capacity to import its projects into VS...

...so let's talk about cutlists ! It's easier to edit a movie in MSP since there is more "room" compared to the whistles and bells in VSP that I need only from time to time.

Another feature (or bug correction ?): after expanding the size of the time line, the position pointer should not jump to the begin of the timeline, it should stay where it is.

The ability to align text in MENU templates - at the moment menu templates are provided with the text either left aligned, centre aligned or right aligned and it is not changeable within a menu, meaning that you maybe cannot use the menu you really wanted to because the text is not aligned correctly if your title needs more than one line of text.

how about syncronization between all corel products.. like if i can design a splash screen in corel animate it in the 3d studio and drop it to videostudio instantly without having torender...

that would blow adobe out of the water.

BrianCee wrote: if you want to add a video or picture in the middle of a project - you do not have to move clips to make a space - just drag the video or photo down into the track over a join between two videos (or cut where you want it) and the rest move aside.

This has always been a function of VideoStudio for as long as I can remember.

This feature is a troublesome one for me, as it was with my prior experience with Windows Movie Maker. I am wondering if there is a way to lock clips in place on the timeline despite adding other elements.

My main efforts center on producing music videos which need to have specific photos or videos synch in time with specific lyrics. So if I add a transition or another photo, is there any way to keep the timeline, or at least part of it (maybe everything before the new insertion), constant in timing and placement?

Thanks..........Don

Good morning,
This is my first posted in this forum, greetings to the entire community of this forum.
I've been reading this thread and I must say first that I've been using since 1998 Mediastudio when I started with version 5 and Fast DV Master card which is still used to digitize analog video.
I ended up with Mediastudio 8 two years ago I moved into Edius, but I miss some functions Mediastudio. I would like an update to 2012 Mediastudio
One of the things I like about Mediastudio is the function of detecting empty time slots and the ability to remove them.
Also the ability to edit audio on the monitor source.
I miss Mediastudio. I would like a Mediastudio with functions for 2012

If you are talking about Media Studio Pro, as opposed to Video Studio, then I am afraid Media Studio no longer exists, Corel dropped it as a product a couple of years ago.

Yes, I know, but I miss him.
I started editing with Mediasrtudio and I got so used to him that I miss some things.
Well, time erases everything, but I did a little illusión to see that Corel has recovered and improved Cool 3d. So good, I thought. I do not lose hope.

Yes, my first question would be when do they expect to release new version X5? Secondly I love this product! I haven't posted very much, because honestly, I rarely have any problems, thirdly if I do I find a solution right here in the forums easily!

But my immediate wish, which may be just because of my lack of knowledge, would be a little more functionality with the Overlay tracks. Here is one !

I would love to havea multi-trim option or the ability to actually use transitions that work with the Video track from the Overlay track. Trying to create a 1 second dissolve form the Overlay track clip to the Video Track clip is a little cumbersome (for me at least!). If you use the fade option on your clip on overlay track, unless your clip is really short it takes 3 to 5 seconds for that to happen. Or maybe its as simple as allowing more control on the FADE INs and FADE OUTS from clips in the Overlay tracks. What I do is split my clip on overlay track at about 1 sec at the end of the clip and then set the fade out. I then get the appearance of a 1 sec dissolve back to the video track.

If their is simplier way in X4 I am all ears!!

Thanks for a great product !!

Tim.
