It would be even better to have the capability to display/hide the timecode.
I only have X2 on this computer, but in Preferences you will find a box to "Display DV Timecode on Preview Window". Don't know if subsequent versions have this.

Yes, the Display DV Timecode has been carried forward up to VS X4.

My wish is to be able to select multiple clips from the libraries by dragging the mouse across them just like you can in windows folders. I would also like the option to de-select the voice track in the timeline track manager. A different skin for the programme would also be good.

I wish the chapter button line was a bit bigger and when I name chapters on the timeline the names would carry forward to the DVD menu ( they dont do that now). What would be even better is for an option to use titles I create in the timeline as chapter points, automatically named with said title.

I vote for that! Add some user tools to be able to move, delete and update them. Plus add an option for a text-based directory display, not simply a visual thumbnail.

I place a lot of pictures in my videos. When I make a cut it would be very handy to me to be able to make some kind of 'note' or notation where I placed my cut so I know what picture I want to place in that location.

For example, if I am interviewing someone and they are talking about their grandfather, father, sister, brother, youngest child, etc., at each one of those locations I would place a cut to go back and insert a picture of who or what they were talking about. Having some kind of ability to make a note of what I wanted in that cut would be very helpful. Anyway... just a thought. :) Not sure if that would be useful to anyone else or not. :)

Lastly I believe this has been requested before, but I will mention it again, a time counter in VS would be very helpful. :) I film wrestling and Jujitsu and for training the coaches could watch the film and just make a note of the time to fast forward or reverse (according to what is on the screen) to that location to show a particular move to the students.

Thanks in advance. :)

Video Essentials IV from New Blue FX has a Clock filter. It plugs into VS, and works real well for this sort of thing. I've had VE IV since they first released it. That's probably as close as you're going to get. I doubt Corel will incorporate this sort of thing.

Although it is leading in consumer level editor but it have more basic things to be done to get settled. First of all the project properties had to be corrected as one need to know what format project he is trying to do or to know. It is default on dvd or avi but no choice of other format as we had already upscaled to hd and still there is not a single preset for it. Another drawback no 24p output. And it is slow too in rendering highdefinition projects as it is claiming it is fastest but it is not but it is no doubt it is better than powerdirector because of authoring dvd and bluray which the latter is lacking in smart rendering compliant files. BD-j is superb and i would like to request for more menu templates for it including the popup menu and also like to make it allow mbaff encoded files to be compliant with it. And if possible make aftereffects plugins work with it. But my best suggestion will be to make videostudio in two mode one basic and other professional and professional should have interface of mediastudio pro 8 which u discontinued but actually it was giving adobe premiere at that time run for money but i dont know why u discontinued as it was having the easiest interface for highend editing and the best. And in authoring section once again option for subtitle and other audio like dts should be there plus make passthru for vc1 files in m2ts container also.

"Higher" audio tracks.
I hope that I have the proper words to describe what I mean. I'll try to explain:
When you have a file in a an audio track, you often need to mark differents spots to increase (or lower) the volume.
It is very difficult to pin point (and move) these spots, since the track is very thin.
Other softwares allow you to make these tracks thicker by dragging the bottom of them.
This is an improvement that would be of great help, in my case.

"Unfreezing" the main video track
Maybe it already exists, but I never found the way to move clips inside the main (first) track. I can cut them, add more clips at the end, but not move them.
After I finish editing my video, I sometimes realize that I forgot to add a few seconds of leading space to the beginning.
I want to select all the files in my tracks and move them a few second to the right, in order to add a black image(or anything else), in the beginning.
Is this already possible?
If not, I would like to have it in X5

pierrenev - you do not need to move the videos in the video track manually - if you want to add blank space at the beginning just grab a colour block from the library and drag it down to the start of the video track - all the videos will then automatically move to the right to make room for it - just the same as if you want to add a video or picture in the middle of a project - you do not have to move clips to make a space - just drag the video or photo down into the track over a join between two videos (or cut where you want it) and the rest move aside.

This has always been a function of VideoStudio for as long as I can remember and as the clips move automatically there is no need for a manual "unfreeze" or move as you suggest.

Audio level detecter - sometimes when I use different clips with different volume levels, it is so time consuming to level all the audio out.

It would be useful if you dont loose templates, FX, etc... when you upgrade from one version to another. It is too annoying to have to reinstall all this stuff
