VideoEditor Pro4x won't make dvd
I am new to the video editing world and have been trying out programs. I first tried Pro3x and it would crash when I tried to edit video. Frustrated I finally uninstalled and tried Cyberlink but had problems with it also and didn't like how their program worked so I decided to give Corel another chance since I did think it was easier to use and hoped reinstalling would fix my problems. I installed the trial version of Pro4x and seemed to be working fine until I tried to burn the dvd. The first time it didn't finish and said their was an undetermined error. I tried again and this time it said it was successful but when I tried to play in dvd player it had only recorded the title and the first file out of four (When previewing it was exactly how I wanted it). I tried a third time and it said it was successful but nothing when I went to play in dvd player. Please advise if I'm doing something wrong or should be using different dvd's etc. I am using dvd+r. I don't want to do anything fancy just want to be able to play my videos on dvd. Thank you for any help you can give.

Can you tell us more about your workflow. What format was the video you were editing? What edits did you actually make? When you had finished editing did you produce a new video clip for that project (Share > Create Video File)? I am assuming you did since you mention trying to burn four files, but having more information would make it clearer exactly what you did.

Re: VideoEditor Pro4x won't make dvd
Thank you for responding. The files are mov and all I did to edit was put the four files in with a title and transitions between. I then went to share and clicked on make a video. I'm not on my home computer right now so not sure exactly what that line is called but I did not create a video file first. I did save to my projects and opened from there.

Hello farmwife92,
Now that VS X4 has the burning module back where it really belongs, you can directly go to SHARE > CREATE DISC.. then just select the type of disc that you want to create. Of course you need to check if you have the necessary writer if you are creating a DVD or Bluray.

Thanks for responding Abiel Corel NA. I went to SHARE > CREATE DISC and tried to burn to DVD. The first time there was an "Unknown Error", the second time it only recorded part of my video but did play in the DVD player, and the third time it said it was successful but it would not play in the DVD player. Not sure what the problem is. I have wasted alot of blank DVD's so far.

Re: VideoEditor Pro4x won't make dvd
Since your videos are all .mov files, which often cause difficulties, I suspect it could be better if you did your editing and then rendered the project into a new, DVD-compliant mpeg-2 file (Share > Create Video File > DVD). Then when you have that file, go to Share > Create Disc > DVD and insert that file. And instead of wasting discs, first, on the final burning page, burn a DVD Folder instead. You can then play that back on a software DVD player to see if everything is there this time round. You can then burn it to disc.

Re: VideoEditor Pro4x won't make dvd
I am using DVD+R discs. Should I be using DVD-R or does it make a difference?

Thank you Ken. I will try that and keep you posted. I hope it works because I feel this is the most user-friendly of the programs I have tried and I would like to purchase.

Ken,
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I did what you said and it worked perfectly! Also captured video from my AVCHD camcorder, edited and then created a disc without making a file and it worked perfectly also. Now I am going to try to capture video from my old dv camcorder and see what happens. Can't thank you enough!
