PSP Project Creator

Post by daxline »

My current version of PSP X3 is 13.2.1.20. As far as I know all upgrades have been installed.
My PSP Project Creator will not display the contents of the digital folders I select to drag photos to the media tray.
It seems to me that it was working originally when I installed X3 and Project Creator, however, an uggrade that came across in the past month has prevented us from seeing the content of the folders.
(With the same upgrade, I lost the ability to email pictures directly from PSP X3).
The only knowledgebase article about the Project Creator problem references files that do not appear in my directories and imply that they were placed there by a "hacker".
I am confused.

Have you contacted Corel about this? Unfortunately the Project Creator is absolutely useless to anyone I've ever talked too about it. Adobe is looking more and more promising.

Hello daxline,

You can try resetting your Project Creator by following these steps.
1. Close Corel PaintShop Photo Project Creator.
2. Launch Window Task Manager; to open Windows Task Manager, right-click an empty space on the taskbar, and then click Task Manager.
3. In the Windows Task Manager, go to Processes tab.
4. In the Processes tab, make sure that the following Processes are not running on your computer:
- MetadataMgr.exe
- MLEMonitor.exe
- RtDevDetector.exe
5. If any of the above are still running on your system, right-click on each Processes and select End Process or End Process Tree.
6. After making sure that the above processes are no longer running, go to taskbar and click on START >> RUN;
7. In the RUN window, type: %appdata%
8. Hit the enter key to open the Application Data folder.
9. Double-click on Corel folder and then double-click on Digital Studio folder.
10. Delete all the files and folders inside this "Digital Studio" folder.
11. Close this folder and re-launch PaintShop Photo Project Creator.

Abiel...
There was no change in the performance of PSP Project Creator after following your suggestions. When working with the media selector, the Directory tree comes up on the left side of the screen. It functions fine as I drill down through the folders to get to the one with the graphic files I need. The final folder will not open, showing the images it contains. None of the files you suggested closing existed on my computer. The only file in the "appdata" was "MLE_GOLDEN_GATE.db". Do you have any other suggestions?

I tried deleting the contents of "Digital Studio" foilder as suggested. No help. I can only see images on desktop folder. Can never get to my pictures etc.. What do I do next. PSP Project Creator has never worked. I installed it from the PSP X3 CD. The only time I can see folders is trying a backup to CD

I am running windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

This is a serious problem and makes the softwar bascily useless - a waste of disk space and a waste of mone  y. If Corel cared about its customers it would have been fixed ages ago,
