PSP X3 crashes on twain acquire from Coolscan IV ED

Post by cfcassidy »

I've recently upgraded from Ulead Photoimpact 12 to PSP X3. I've applied all patches upto SP4. When I try to acquire a scan from my Nikon Coolscan IV ED (aka LS-40), PSP crashes right after the Nikon Scan splash screen appears. No dialogs or other messages, PSP just disappears.

I'm running the Vista version of Nikon Scan (4.0.3) with the latest drivers on Windows 7. This setup works with Photoimpact 12 and with Painter Photo Essentials 4 which came with PSP. Any suggestions?

Hello cfcassidy,

I checked the nikon web site and it appears that the problem is that there is no Windows 7 compatible for Nikon Scan. Since they indicated on this post http://nikoneurope-en.custhelp.com/app/ ... a_id/45255.
We do not plan on offering an updated version of Nikon Scan to run on Windows 7, however we have found that the current version of Nikon Scan does offer basic operation under 32-bit systems. As the scanners are not recognised by Windows 7 64-bit systems they can not be used. Please note that we cannot guarantee all functions of Nikon Scan on Windows 7 systems.
But I might be wrong, so you can either compact the Nikon support for assistance with their product and contact our Tech Support, you can visit: http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/ ... 4151700373 for ways on how to contact Corel Support.
