How to select all video clips then set audio same level

Post by gaardmand »

Hi.I'm sorry to bring this topic up again, but I can't seem to find the answers in any of the previous ones.
I have several movieclips I want to turn the volumen down to the same level. I don´t want to do it one clip at a time. When I select multible clips, the soundlevelbar turns gray and I can´t change the level.
Please advise

Thanks, Gaardmand

You can't do it in VS. You would have to export the project's audio (Share>Create Sound File) and adjust the sound in a sound editor, then import it back into VS.

What you might be able to do, and I say might because I have not tried it, is to use an audio filter to adjust the volume, rather than using the clip volume controls (the audio would have to be in the music or voice tracks to apply audio filters). You then might be able to right click on the audio clip and choose "copy attributes". If so you can then "paste attributes" to the rest of the clips, thereby speeding up the process a bit. This process would probably only apply to X3.

Hi Jeff.
Thanks for your reply.
I haved tried to copy attributes, but when I want to paste it - nothing happens. (I don't even get an errormessage)
I shame the X3 doesn't support this simple feature...
Thanks again.

I agree. But keep in mind that VS is a primarily a video editor, and has never been a strong audio editor. I think that can be said about many video editors. Although I must say I don't know why that is, because audio is so important to most video productions. :?
