VS X3 Unstable
Lately I am having problems with the stability of the VS X3. The software has the recent updates. It seems that other consumer NLEs are rendering VS X3 to be enclosed in a digital museum.

Re: VS X3 Unstable
Have these problems started soon after the program updates? What else changed on your computer? Can you do a System Restore to a point when everything was working well?

The problems started after installing some codecs (I think, I am not sure). I think there are some kind of conflicts. It is hard to say.

And so that is Corel's fault?
The obvious question would be, did you remove those codecs? Have you reinstalled? Again, have you done a System Restore?

Hello david_lexicon,
If you have not updated your VideoStudio Pro X3, please do so. You can visit: http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/ ... 0460544373 for all the updates that you need.
Also regarding the codecs that you downloaded. If you need to download or install a codec, I would suggest that you download them directly from the company that created the codecs like Real.com for Real Media file, Windows or Microsoft for Windows Media file, DiVX.com for divx codecs. You can check the list below for some of the most commonly used codec on VideoStudio.
Here are the codecs that you need to update:

Re: VS X3 Unstable
I get the same problem....a LOT. And this is with the base install on windows 7, nothing fancy. I found a way to reproduce it. Change the project properties. Change it to type AVI, then click the last tab. Crash.david_lexicon wrote:OK. Thanks for your help.
Also, it pops up a LOT when rendering. Many times, I can restart the project and it will work. I think it happens when I dont save the project and open it up and just start editing. I usually just create my video, render it and don't save the project.

Re: VS X3 Unstable
Since you do have a DMP file, the location is shown, you could create a trouble-ticket with Corel and upload it to them. I've done that a few times now and had a response within a few days.

Funny you should mention thattinybeetle wrote:Since you do have a DMP file, the location is shown, you could create a trouble-ticket with Corel and upload it to them. I've done that a few times now and had a response within a few days.
I have but it still does it. Their response was also long and complicated. uninstall/reinstall, Removing registry settings, etc.
Ridiculous. They need to work on their windows 7 version a bit more. It is not very stable.
