Hello all
I have a video file imported from VOB format.
The properties of the video file tells me that its a 4:3 format, VIDEO PAL
And when I show it in the preview screen of my Video Studio X3 Pro it shows as a 4:3
How can it be converted into 16:9 ???
Petter

Re: Video Studio X3 Pro how to convert 4:3 to 16:9
First, you need to tell us what kind of result you want -
1. Black bars on the sides. This usually the best option when you're mixing 4x3 & 16x9 footage, because you don't loose any picture. If all of your footage is 3x4, there's no point in doing this, since the black bars will show-up on the TV widescreen anyway.
2. Zoom-in to fill-in the width of the screen, and cut-off the top and/or bottom of the picture. Avain, most widescreen TVs have a zoom option, so you can leave the footage as-is, and let the viewer decide if they want to fill-up the screen and chop-off the top & bottom of the image.
3. Stretch/distort the image, to make it wider withou cutting-off the top & bottom. making the "people fat".
Usually a bad idea, unless you just have text & graphics that look when distorted.

Trevor has a tutorial about working with 16:9 video. At the bottom of his tutorial is a workaround I sometimes use.
