1911?? OR 2011? - PImpact...im not sure!!

Post by garjobo »

Ive downloaded a trial for Photoimpact X3 - but with my quadcore computer/windows 7 - it just seems to be slow and also having problems retriving saved files/pieces of work.

This isnt great espicially when ive spent a lot of time working on something!!!!

I have also Photoimpact 12..which work fine on my older windows xp machine.

So, question: All i want to do ...for gowd sakes..not asking much here!! is to make a dvd cover..add a handful of photos, resize them etc, and certainly make one photos - extract object ( seems slow once ive done this ).

Please tell me...any decent!!!!!! programme out there ?

please....this is 2011 isnt it!! not 1911...youd think Ulead/Corel whatever will of been able to create a programme which works!!!

Sadly Corel discontinued PhotoImpact. When they released PI X3 a couple of years ago now, it was not offered in the U.K. The last version they were able to obtain was PI 12. So it is not compatible with Win7, and certainly not able to use some of the latest hardware functions such as GPU, or even the multi-core processors.

There's other programs around, Corel has PSPP X3 and CorelDraw Graphics Suite, both very powerful in their own rights. Both are currently supported by Corel. So you might click on the link titled Free Trials at the top right of the web board and download one of them to see if one of them will work for you.

Hello garjobo,

Currently PhotoImpact X3 is not compatible with Windows 7. However, you may want to use PaintShop Photo Pro X3 or CorelDraw X5 for your graphics project. But if you are just creating DVD Cover you can also try DVD Movie Factory 7, which has a created disc label feature.

You can download the trials of any of the program that I mention above by going to http://www.corel.com/trials.

I successfully installed PhotoImpact X3 on Windows 7 64-bit and it's running without any problems. It's also not set to run in compatibility mode.
