Hello everyone, new user here.
I need a consensus from the forum members here regarding this Service Pack 2 update (which is named Patch3.exe). I've read that it causes problems and I've read where it doesn't. As of right now, without the patch, my version is 13.6.2.36 , I think with the patch it will be .69, or is there another patch (or version) floating around out there that is more stable?
Also, under Settings>Performance the "Use Hardeware Encoder acceleration" is grayed out. Anybody is able to check that thing off and what hardware are you using to get it to show up?
Thanks to all the contributors here at this forum, it helped me in the NLE software decision process.

Re: Service pack and hardware encoder questions
Hi and welcome to the forums!
I am not sure, however, that you are going to get any consensus when you have one set of users saying black and another set saying white. I am in the group that has not had any problem whatsoever with SP3 (disguised as SP2). And my version ends in 69. As for another version floating out there, Corel has never been particularly generous when it comes to update patches, so what you see is what you get.
I can't answer your question about hardware acceleration because I simply don't know.

Re: Service pack and hardware encoder questions
Are you having problems that you think the patch will address? Frankly, I don't install patches unless I have to.

Not yet as I am really just starting to use the software. I'm working mostly with .wmv files right now (captured from SD camera thru another program), but will be working with HD camera output soon (probably ACVHD). I guess i will stay with no service pack until then as the description say it mostly deals with that anyway. Thanks for the response.
Also thanks Ken for your response. If anybody knows more about the hardware encoding thing, please chime in.
