whap happened to proofing?

Post by evilotto »

I just upgraded to pspX3 and the proof/auto proof buttons I'm used to on all the adjustment tools are gone. There's now a "preview on image" checkbox which is the same as 'auto proof' (except that it seems to be default enabled for most things), but one-shot proof button is gone. Is there an option to get this back? Updating the whole image for every minor adjustment slows things down a lot, but the ability to see the whole image proof of the previous adjustment was a feature I liked.

Cheers,

No, I don't believe there is a setting to get that back.

I know you can technically still get something similar, though not as useful, by just turning the preview on and off, but sadly the proof is gone. I hate to admit it, but I had completely not noticed the proof option was gone. Sad day.

Sad day indeed. I too had completely not noticed the proof option was gone
I think it might have gone with PSP X but I can't remember.

What does / did the one-shot proof button? :?:

Well this is from Paint Shop Pro 9 Guide:
Click the Proof button .

All settings in the dialog are applied to
the main image window. Each time you change settings, click the
Proof button to view the changes in the main image window.
So it applies the changes to the full image, not the previews, and keeps it visible but allows you to change the settings without it updating the full image every time. Which sounds really nice on larger images.

Preview on image, updates all of the time, and when you turn it off it reverts the image to its original view. So I suddenly want this proof option back.
