Limit Folders VideoStudeo looks at for media

Post by PatBarr »

When I open Easy Edit for the first time it searches for media and, because I have large disks, it takes a very long time to find all the media. This is also true when I click on Import then My Computer. Since all my media is in just a few folders how can I limit where VideoStudeo searches? This would speed up this process significantly.
Thanks, Pat

That's one major reason to not use Easy Edit / VS 2010 Express. Corel simply did not think the organizer concept through. There's no way to tell or limit it from looking in the most likely places for photos, videos and audio, which are My Pictures, My Videos and My Music. If you have a lot of files in those folders, you get to see just how cumbersome, how slow the program is. The same holds true when you want to import a few files, and those files reside in a folder with hundreds or thousands of others.

The only way to get around this, is to not store the majority of your files in those folders. First and most important I refuse to use the program. Just for purposes of helping out here, I keep very few files in those folders. I store mine on an external hard-drive, so when I have to fire up VS 2010 or DVD Factory 2010, I don't have to tolerate these molasses in winter programs.
