Adding video clips to library in VS PRO X3

Post by zehavi »

Hello,
In order to add mpeg video files to the library, I create in the library a new video folder for the current project.
During adding the files I get sometimes the message: "No storage to load BB!!"
I would be grateful to understand what is the meaning of this message and what I have to do.
Thanks,
Abraham

What type of files are you adding when you get that code? Obviously by your post, it doesn't occur all the time. Make sure you're loading video files and not mistakenly selected images or audio files.

We've only had this message reported once before, in mid-2009. None of us had any idea then what it meant, and I guess our knowledge has not improved since then! See http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic. ... a8#p180793

In that thread, the poster was trying to load an uncompressed .avi file, which are typically very large (1 hour = 65 GB more or less). So as Ron has already said, it will be important to have an idea what kind of video you are trying to load. As Steve suggested at the end of that thread, it could be that the file you are trying to load is simply too large and there is not enough room left on your hard drive...

Thanks Ron and Ken,
The type of the files is MPEG-2, as I load them from my HDD camera (Sony DCR SR 62) to a special folder in my computer. The total volume of all my clips in my current project is 5.4 GB, and I have 252 GB free space in my hard disk, so it doesn't look that this is the problem. After I click O.K. when the message appears, the adding process to the library (from my special folder) continue and at last I have all the clips in the library.
By the way, what is the meaning of BB?
Regards,
Abraham

As Ken stated, we don't know. That error surfaced a couple of years ago, and no one was able to determine where it came from.

Hi

When I load the files from my camera, sometimes other types of file are transferred,
If I try to import “all” then I may be importing a file that VS doesn’t like.
Clearing the error message may allow VS to import the rest.
I’ve had this happen when importing images

View the folder on your PC to check the contents are all Mpeg 2 files.

I have encountered this same message: "No storage to load BB"
Context: I have a 5.85GB .wmv file that failed to finalize under VideoStudio. (The finalization failure occurred when running a batch convert from .TS to .wmv Ulead 1280x720 NTSC. Re-running the batch convert after bumping the process up to the highest priority short of real-time did not help).
I thought I'd try my luck converting the .wmv file to another format like AVCHD. I browsed to open the .wmv file, and received the following message: "the [C:\...*.wmv] cannot be edited. Do you want to perform pre-process [sic] to make it editable? Hold [Shift] to apply your decision to all files." I clicked yes, and VideoStudio proceeded to pre-process the file. This morning when I checked the result, I found the "No storage to load BB" message.
I'm running an Intel i5 at 2.53 GHz, 4G RAM, 300GB HD with over 100GB free. OS is Win7 Pro 64-bit.
BTW, if anyone has any tips on converting a large .TS file into .wmv without failing during the finalization phase, that would also solve my problem. For the record, I can convert 2 to 3 GB .TS files to ~1.5GB .wmv files with no problem; however, with a longer program input that was also recorded at higher resolution (~10GB .TS file with 5.85GB .wmv file output), I ran into this problem.
Thanks--

Hi humev

I know this is a shot in the dark, but when I hear success with small files and failures with larger ones I always think Fat32 filing system.

Can you tell us if your drives are formatted as NTFS or Fat 32?

Trevor, Thanks, but my drive is formatted as NTFS. VideoStudio generated a 5.85GB file, which as far as I can tell contains the full video. (The file size limit under FAT32 is around 2GB, right?) It's just that the finalizing steps of setting up an index and so forth fail.

Relative to the subject of this thread, it's when I attempt to load this unindexed file that I get the ...BB error.

So yeah, you're right that it appears there's something going on that relates to the size of the file. However, it doesn't seem to be because of the disk format.

Hi

I have just encountered the “No storage to load BB”. Each time I open X4 the error showed.
The error window took 5 clicks to clear so I assumed it was one click per error.

It appears to be associated with the library, I had cleared the library then inserted 5 HD clips
I have in the past inserted these files without problems.

I reset the library (Settings -- Library Manager) to its default state and the error disappeared.
I have inserted the clips again without problem?

Hello Trevor,
Tank you for your message. I have tried also to reset my library, but unfortunately, during this process I got several times the “No storage to load BB” and then the program has been freezed. In the "Windows Media Library"/"Video Library" I have a huge amount of video clips, may be all the clips that I worked with. I didn't sucsess to delete them, the delete option was grayed, even the delete key didn't do nothing. I wonder how can I delete all those clips. May be this amount of clips is the reason for the "No storage...."?
Any help will be appreciate.
Thanks,
Abraham

Hi Abraham

You can manually re-set the library by renaming the folder….”13.0” to “13.0 copy”

This should set Video Studio libraries to their default states.
When you open Video Studio a new folder (13.0) will be created.

Using Windows Explorer go to………….

C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro\13.0

You could also reset each library page back to old by copying these files from “13.0 copy” to “13.0”
VS_Video.dat
VS_Audio.dat
VS_Image.dat

That may of course cause the problem again

We don't know. This is a strange error message that we have not been able to determine what it means.

Recently I have been getting the "No storage to load BB" message, when capturing video from my Sony Handicam to the trial version of Corel VideoStudio Pro X4.

Sometimes after I click "okay," my computer monitor goes blue with some kind of error message that I cannot fully read because it extends off the edges of the screen: something about dumping memory.

I might also get a message about the file (singular, not plural) being corrupted and therefore not properly saved, but all the clips are there when I look for them.

My hard drive is not short of memory (3/4 empty of 465 GB capacity). I also tried saving directly to my external hard drive (which has 1.5 TB free out of 2 TB capacity). Same problem.

I have read through this thread, and the suggestion seems to be this has something to do with file size, but I am saving with the "Split by Scene" checked on, so it is many smaller files, not one big file.

I have used the old Ulead video studio without this trouble, and the first few attempts with the trial Pro X4 went smoothly. This started happening I believe, after I started creating different libraries to store clips.
