Disk volume error

Post by ladydeath2011 »

With Video Studio X2 most of the time when importing digital media, I select "Import from folder" select the VIDEO_TS folder on the hard drive. When I get the listing of titles and chapters as soon as I select the title I want I get the error message:

Disk volume does not exist

Why does this error occur? Strange part is on some projects I can redo it and eventually it will work, but not all the time.

Welcome to the forums,

That could be caused by a variety of faults. Are the DVD folders created by VS or some other DVD authoring program? Did you copy them to your hard-drive from DVDs , and if so, are they burned discs or commercial discs?

There may be a slight degree of corruption that is causing the problem. If you copied the folders from a DVD, then try to copy them again. If the DVD is a commercial disc, it could be the copy-protection.

I copied the VIDEO_TS directory from a DVD onto the hard drive. Then used that folder (the one on the hard drive) to import from. When the error message shows up is inconsistant. One disc I used I never get the error message, some I always get the error.

The specific disc I used before posting I got the error 3 out of 5 times. Using the exact same disc and copying it to the same folder. I started from the beginning all the time.

Some are "home made" DVDs I get from friends, others commercial. The copy protected DVDs break when I try to copy them to the hard drive, some of the DVDs I purchased are not copy protected and some of them work fine some of the time.
