Upgrading from freebie

Post by Arnie D »

Hi

If you remember a few years back when they stopped producing MediaStudio Pro at version 8 they gave MediaStudio users the option to download VideoStudio 11 for free. I did download it and have been using it ever since. I am hoping to upgrade from this to VideoStudio pro X3, and wondered if anyone else has done so succesfully.
I guess that because it was free I'm thinking that it might be upgrade restricted and just want to make sure I can upgrade from it before I purchase the upgrade. It does have a serial number so I'm assuming that it should be OK.

Thanks in advance

I don't see why not. When you upgrade the new version will ask for a SN from a previous version, so you should be good.

Hello Arnie D,

The VideoStudio X3 Upgrade is not dependent on the installed VideoStudio 11 the upgrade that you see is a discount that Corel provide for users using old version of VideoStudio.

You are eligible to upgrade to the latest version of VideoStudio if you have a registered version of the following.
* VideoStudio® 10 or higher (Standard or Pro)
* Corel® VideoStudio® Express 2010
* Corel® Digital Studio™ 2010

But I would suggest that you try installing the trial version first. You can download it via http://www.corel.com/trials
