Am I missing something? All I want is a simple AVCHD menu that shows 12 Thumbnail movies which can be selected for play. The maximum thumbnails that I see in any menu is 4. Is there a way to make more?

Re: 7 Pro - Need Simple 12 Thumbnail Movie Menu
Hello mwcook,
The number of thumnails will depend on the number of videos that you have loaded into the software. Once you are in the GALLERY just select the template that has 9 thumbnail, so if you have 12 videos, you will then have a second page that will have 9 thumbnail then 3 on the next page. If you select the template that has 4 video layout, it will divide the 12 video to 3 pages of menus.
But if you create your own menu template, just follow these steps.
1. Click Customize in the Edit tab of the 2 Menu & Preview page to open the Customize Menu dialog box.
2. Select Frame, Navigation Button, or Layout in the drop down menu to display the associated preset thumbnails.
3. Double-click a thumbnail to apply it.
4. To choose a new background music, image, or video, click Background music or Background image/video.
5. You can rotate text in the Preview Window of the Customize Menu dialog box using the rotate handle. To set the font properties of text, select the text and click Font Settings. This opens the Font dialog box where you can select and apply text attributes.
Note: When working in the Customize Menu dialog box, use the Font dialog box to accurately resize text. The Font dialog box can also be launched by right-clicking the text and selecting Font Attributes.
6. To set menu pan and zoom effects, click Pan & Zoom. Select the category and your desired effect.
7. To set menu motion filter effect, click Motion Filter. Select your desired motion effect.
8. To modify menu in/menu out effect, click Menu In/Menu Out.
9. To save the menu template for later use, click Add to Menu Template.
10. Click OK.
Note: To use your menu template, go to Menu template library at the 2 Menu & Preview page and select Favorites from the list. Double-click your menu template to apply it.
Use the Preview Window in 2 Menu & Preview page to further manipulate and modify your menu objects.

Re: 7 Pro - Need Simple 12 Thumbnail Movie Menu
There is no template that has 9 thumbnails in my GALLERY. I have only 13 total templates for the AVCHD format. Again, this is the paid version of 7 Pro which also included the Content Pack, Extra Pack and Bonus Pack. I've also done the two available updates for the program so it should be up to date.Abiel Corel NA wrote:Hello mwcook,

So how many templates do you have in your GALLERY? Are you running DVD MovieFactory 7 Pro? Was the template for the 9 thumbnails in one of the extra packs that perhaps did not get installed properly?
Are you sure you are talking about the AVCHD Disk GALLERY and not the Blu-Ray GALLERY?
There is no Customize in the Edit tab of the Menu & Preview page. What is going on here?Abiel Corel NA wrote:....

Re: 7 Pro - Need Simple 12 Thumbnail Movie Menu
If you're wanting 12 to a page, there's not one. They will be spread across 3 pages. I think Abiel is thinking DVD not AVCHD. I done everything I can think of to try to get more, however for AVCHD they're very limited.

And I'm afraid Ron is right. A lot of software packages won't even allow menu with AVCHD hybrid discs, so what you have is all you are likely to get... Mind you, since at highest quality you can only get aboutk 20 minutes of AVCHD on a single layer DVD, are all your videos around 2 minutes in length, or are you burning longer videos at lower quality rates>

Re: 7 Pro - Need Simple 12 Thumbnail Movie Menu
You can easily get 60 minutes of excellent quality HD video (1080) on a single layer 4.7 Gb disk in AVCHD format (at maximum quality, 15 mbs VBR). My typical movie videos are short 5 to 7 minutes long clips taken over time so I would very much like at least 8 and up to 12 thumbnails on a single page. I have another program that will do 12 thumbnails on a single page menu but it takes many times longer to render. Corel is much faster for the rendering but is lacking this basic thumbnail menu (and please don't suggest allowing it to spread over 4 pages of menus).Ken Berry wrote:And I'm afraid Ron is right. This is my biggest complaint with what would otherwise be a very good program and would seem to be easily solved with a little programming effort.

Re: 7 Pro - Need Simple 12 Thumbnail Movie Menu
Just in case there may be some programmer at Corel that could do this, here is my offer:
$50 via Paypal for a 7 Pro Template which will provide a 12 Thumbnail Movie Menu for AVCHD mode.
This is probably less than a 15 min job for someone familiar with template design. Not only will you get the $50 but you can then provide it as part of the standard package of templates for the program. I sure that there are other users which would like the feature.

Re: 7 Pro - Need Simple 12 Thumbnail Movie Menu
I don't know if you've found it yet, but here's what you're looking for.
Download the attached file and unzip it.
Copy the enclosed .UFO file into the following folder:
C: / Program Files (or Program Files (x86)) / Corel / Corel DVD MovieFactory 7 / Corel DVD MovieFactory 7 / Content / Menu Template / HD Basic / 16x9 / HD Basic /
It should show up in your AVCHD menu templates, and your Blu-ray templates as well!

Re: 7 Pro - Need Simple 12 Thumbnail Movie Menu
I had given up after a few months and just checked back in today to see that "p_l" posted the exact template I requested. EXCELLENT! The $50 has been sent.p_l wrote: I don't know if you've found it yet, but here's what you're looking for.

And Corel Support, are you listening?? The above template has been downloaded over 60 times. You really should include it in the standard group of templates.
