Hi Jeff,
I checked out the thread you suggested, and it led me into an online chat session with Corel support. They has me try a complete uninstall of VS X3, using the CDS 2010 Cleanup Utility, then manually delete some left over folders and Registry items. Then I reinstalled the program, and all updates. I recaptured my video, and burned it to another DVD. The results are intermitent. Sometimes when I play the burned DVD on my Sharp Blu-RAy player, it stutters, other times it plays through with no stuttering. I am confused. I wonder if it may have something to do with one of the settings in DVD MovieFactory 7 SE, which I used to authore the DVD, I will continue to try things, and will update you if I find anything definitive.
Thanks, to you and all the moderators of this Board. I am constantly finding nuggets of information on how to better use my program. Your efforts on our behalf are appreciated.

Hi Jeff,
I checked out the thread you mentioned. It said that the VS X3 program was at an ealier version than what I already had. My copy was at V 13.6.2.69. It also stated that the User contacted Corel support and they helped him out. I did an online chat with Corel support, and a clean uninstall/reinstall, using the instructions in their Knowledge Base (ID 764392) to do the uninstall. I agreed to try it and the results seem promising. I have re-captured the VHS tape using my Roxio USB adapter with VS X3 and burned the DVD the same way as before, no audio stuttering. So far so good.
I guess there was something that was not installed correctly and was messing things up. I'll try some more captures/burns next week and will keep you updated on the results.
Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Hi Jeff,
I checked out the thread you mentioned, and found that my copy of VS X3 was at a higher level than what the thread was working with. Mine was V 13.6.2.69. I contacted Corel support, and was directed to do a clean uninstall/reinstall of the program, using the directions in their Knowledge Base article 764392. That article said to use the"CDS 2010 Clean Up Utility.
I followed the instructions and after reinstlling VX X3, and installing all updates, I captured the VHS tape using my Roxio USB adapter and VS X3. I trimmed the file and burned another DVD as before. No audio skipping this time.
I will do some further testing, but at this time, the skipping issue seems to have been resolved.
Thanks for your feedback. I get tons of useful tips from this Board. Please keep up the good work.

Sorry for the duplicate entries. I thought that my replies did not get through.
No, they never mentioned anything about a hotfix. They just said to completely uninstall VideoStudio and reinstall it and all the updates.
Is there a web address for this hotfix? What version number does it change the software to? I'm curious.

It was mentioned in another thread by a Dutch user. Unfortunately, he didn't give any URL for it. I complained in that thread that Corel had not even let us Admin people and Moderators in on the secret, when the hot fix should be posted like other patches on their website. So we don't know how to get it either!

Okay you can add me to the audio stuttering list too. Had the problem originally on my XP box. If you view the clip in the import area it plays fine. Place it in the editing area and it creates the max headrom studder which transfers to the finished render. I just purchased a new laptop (Win 7) and it does the exact same thing. Weirder still is if you have multiple clips in editing and highlight one of them there is no stutter. If you play the entire project as a whole you get stutters in each clip section. Very frustrating and I need a working solution.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know if my problem is the same or a different one. I would describe the sound emitted as be an unintelligible beating sound. At this time (I haven't attempted to lay any audio track yet) the problem only occurs with sync-sound recorded at the time of filming and only on playback in project mode. There is no problem in playing individual clips. I am using clips shot with a DV camcorder and a HDV camcorder, the problem only occurs with the clips shot with the HDV camcorder, those shot with the DV camcorder play perfectly in any mode. Corel don't mention anything about sync-sound in their User Guide. IT would seem that the problem is Corel induced, so I am very wary of down-loading and patch from Corel until I know it won't cause any further problems. I hope someone can set me straight. John.

Has anyone got a link to the actual (and what seems to so far be a mystery) fix from Corel?
