Version 4 of Video Studi crashes on XP

Post by shaund »

Hi all.

I have a slight problem, I have Ulead Video Studio 4 SE.

It ran perfectly on my Windows 2000 pc, but I have upgraded my PC to Widnows XP and now Video Studio constantly crashes when I try to capture still images from my camera.

I only use the camera to take still image pictures for work instructions etc.

Is there a free "lite" version I can use to replace my full copy of Version 4??

Try navigating to the executable file, probably, C\program files\ulead systems\4.0? Boy you got a real antique there!
Anyway, right click and go to "properties" "compatability" and select to run the program as "windows 2000." See if that works.

Hi Shaund,

My only suggestion would be to upgrade to a newer version of Video Studio. (sorry mate).

Video Studio is now upto Version 9 so I doubt very much ver 4 is supported or if it's possible to get a free version of the product.

When I bought our Video Camera we had a copy of Ver 4 come with camera and this was good to use for about 2 weeks until I realised Video Studio 7 (which was the current version at the time) was out.

I took the plunge and upgraded and the difference was obviouse.

I think it's fair to say most Video Editting software requires a resonably high spec PC and I know that ver 9 is more deisgned for O/S's like XP so I think you may get on better with this.

With each newer version, despite the issues people do face and what these boards are for, they do tend to be more stable, more feature rich, etc.., etc...

Hope this was some help.

Cheers,

Brian
