Problem with pswi_preloaded.exe file in PSP X1

Post by SimoneFB »

Nature of the problem:
I have coral paint shop pro Xl, and a few weeks ago now it started closing every time I would try and open a file from my computer.
It doesn’t close if I copy a picture from the internet for example, but then again it wont save the file neither...I then removed PSP and reinstalled the program, but then a box with this text came up:

Could not initialize installation.
C:\Users\Simone\AppData\Local\Temp\pswi_preloaded. exe The specified file was not found

Has this something to do with it not working properly?

Properties of your source files (format, file size, where did you get it?)
PSP X1 is downloaded from a cd.

Any help would be very appreciated :)

Hello SimoneFB,

I would suggest that you reinstall using the disc where you copied the installer file, since there could be some files needed that was not copied from the original installer disc or you can try searching for the pswi_preloaded.exe to see if it was on a different folder on your computer.

Another thing, since you are using Windows Vista and if you are installing PSP X1 on Vista, then you may want to visit http://www.corel.com/vista for information on the corel program that is being installed on Windows Vista.

Hi

Okay so I reinstalled the psp program from the disc and the box with the text
Could not initialize installation.
C:\Users\Simone\AppData\Local\Temp\pswi_preloaded. exe The specified file was not found

appeared again.

I've also searched all over the computer for the pswi_preloaded.exe file, but it isn't hidden anywhere.

It might be a case of needing to update your video drivers. See http://corel.custhelp.com/app/answers/d ... _id/758921.
If that doesn't work, try doing a clean reinstall using the instructions at http://corel.custhelp.com/app/answers/d ... _id/760103.

I've tried both of your solutions but neither worked, when I was finished with downloading paint shop pro X1, the same box came up again....
What should I do??
