ok so i have a toshiba satellite laptop and easycap60...been using easycap for almost 3 years with no issues....when i first got the laptop i switched over no prob....then a virus hit it and i sent it back to toshiba and got it back all factory specked....now when i went back and reinstalled easycap...it is wonky...the drivers installed fine...i think....but the thing that gets me is that the stk1150 driver reads that it is a webcam driver now....plus when i try to record ps3 footage it only works in avi format....i used to use MPEG format only....when i try to now, it will sometimes set up fine, except when i set it to mpeg 2 and set the bit rate it maxes out at 300, it should be 9500 so then i hit ok and it will say range is wrong and make a correction but even the correction is wrong cause it maxes out at like 21xx, so i cant do it either, or if it all does read correct it will go through everything fine but when i hit capture it will say failed to build mpeg graph and that it cant connect to mpeg capture pin.....ive tried to run in compatibilty for xp and vista which is what it ran fine on back in the day on first desktop....which was vista. also because i try to use s-vid. sometimes input source will allow to set to s-vid and other times it will be greyed out but the picture will still show up cause only s-vid is hooked into it, no composite at all. i will say this though, i noticed when i first did it on laptop befoe virus, i lost the abilty to use the vid-studio filter which was fine by me, i didnt need it cause it was in s-vid. but now its back....could this be do to the tv before having s-vid hook up and the one i have now doesnt? even though i run the s-vid straight from the ps3 into laptop?
thank you...as far as pc specs...my laptop ran it easy before..but after getting refactoried it doesnt.

Re: easycap60 on windows 7 probs.....
First, have a look at http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php ... 30#p211330 where an awful lot of recent users are having troubled with a fake device called EasyCap. By the sounds of it, yours is old enough to be an original. But the problems sound familiar. However, you also don't say which version of VS came with the device -- though I am betting it is VS 10 SE. If that is the case, though you might have gotten it to work with Vista, it is definitely not compatible with Win 7 which you are now using. Moreover, you version of Win 7 is not one where you can successfully run VS10 in XP compatibility mode (which must be Ultimate or Pro versions...)
Beyond that, I cannot advise you... I am not even sure that downloading the trial version of X3 is going to work with your old device... More often than not, they will not... But you can only try...

Hi
I believe you need Ezcap116, the latest version for Windows 7 compatibility.
Visit the ezcap web site for more info.

First of all, none of us here work for Toshiba or EasyCap, and most of us don't work for Corel. We are merely users of VideoStudio, like yourself. Apparently, when you had everything reinstalled on your laptop something changed.explain how it worked fine before then?

Hello ghost_xero,
Like what Black, Ken and Trevor already told you, VS 10 is not compatible with Windows 7, since VS 10 was released even before Win7 was in development. This can be the reason why you cannot use the program since the incompatibility with Windows 7 is messing up the behavior of VS 10.
You can visit http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/ ... 4516325170, to know which version of the Corel Software is compatible with Windows 7.
There is a work around for you to make old program works on Windows 7, however we cannot assure you this is a 100% fool proof. You can use the Windows 7 Program Compatibility and the Windows XP Mode with Virtual PC, which are both from Microsoft.
You can follow the steps for Windows 7 Program Compatibility from this link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/wind ... of-Windows
You can download and install the Windows XP Mode with Virtual PC from this link: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtua ... nload.aspx.
You also want to consider upgrading your Corel software, since the latest version of VideoStudio is full compatible with Windows 7, you can download the 30 day full working trial at http://www.corel.com/trials.
