VS 7 Crackling Sound

I have put together a slideshow of photographs and very short movie-clips using VS 7. There are transitions between all pics(+- 200) and video.
The soundtracks(WAV) form CD are causing some annoyance though.
When I playback the project in preview the soundtack seems to 'crackle', varying in intensity at times. I have not yet tried to burn the project to VCD yet, but thought I'd post the question here hoping there would be a simple answer.

Hi,

Try Share>Create Sound File>Options>Compression>PCM>48KHz.

If it is clean, use it to replace your audio.
