Hi I'm running videostudio 10.0 and when i try to capture a video either by using my in built webcam or using my usb video/audio grabber with my sony handycam TRV228E
i get an error popping up 'Cannot start the capture graph'. Any advice in sorting this out would be great, as I got this at xmas and still not working properly, only got this far due to perseverance/youtube/good luck.
Thanks

Re: videostudio 10.0 problem
Welcome to the forums!
Unfortunately, VS10 is simply not compatible with Windows 7, which you are running. The first version that was compatible, or almost was VS X2, using a patch. However that patch does not work with earlier versions. VS X3 is fully compatible with Win 7.
I am assuming that you got VS10 with the USB video/audio grabber, and that it is in fact the cut-down SE version, but you might want to confirm that. If the USB device, moreover, is called EasyCap, then you have probably been dudded as quite a few people have bought that and never got it to work, even on XP machinese on which VS 10 *will* work.
You might want to consider downloading the free trial version of VS X3 to see if it works with your handycam -- though as noted above, the USB device might be another matter!

Re: videostudio 10.0 problem
Thanks for the advice, it is an easy cap device your correct and I think the web is littered with disgruntled people who like you say cant get these things to work. The seller assured people that what i got was an offical item and not a knock off. I seem to have a full vs10.0.
What is a little annoying then is the videos on youtube of people claiming to have what looks like vs10 with a easy cap device working on win7. I'll look in to trying the free trial of the newer version then.
Thanks
Steve

Hi
The official Easycap device has been re-branded as Ezcap.
As far as I know they no longer provide Video Studio with this device.
