Storyboard scroll line in VS pro X3
Please tell me how I can activate the scroll line when playing my clips in the Storyboard view.
VS pro X2 has this feature, but I'm unable to find it in VS proX3. It's impossible to see which clip is being played let alone be able to edit.
Thank you
Grandma Carol

Re: Storyboard scroll line in VS pro X3
I suspect it was dropped by Corel -- although I would be interested to hear if anyone has "found" it...
And the reason they may have decided to drop it is that few people would do their editing in storyboard mode. For example, until I opened both X3 and X2 to see what you were talking about, I have not used storyboard mode in literally years... While I acknowledge it might be notionally a little easier to slip in transitions in the storyboard, or remove or replace them, it is pretty simple in timeline view too. You also see the whole clip in timeline view and can zoom in to frame-by-frame viewing and cutting. So timeline view is what I -- and I suspect many others -- use...

Hi Grandma Carol
Welcome to the forums, I have to ask have you been here before as your name seems familiar.
The storyboard curser does seem to have disappeared using X3.
It however its available in Timeline View. You can now view individual frames continuously.
Make sure you select Settings-Preferences- clip playback mode as Thumbnail Only
I must admit you’re the first to mention this missing curser………….I dont have an answer, sorry

Hi Ken
I use Storyboard view quite often as my first edit, removing frames/cutting clips.
But must admit I use X2 for most of my work, so not noticed the X3 curser, it is useful and cannot understand why its been removed.
Time to retire..........

Re: Storyboard scroll line in VS pro X3
Are you referring to this?
It disappears if you adjust/enlarge the timeline/storyboard. Done by dragging the little dots in the center above it. Drag it back down and the cursor will be back.

Re: Storyboard scroll line in VS pro X3
Ron -- I have never adjusted, enlarged, reduced or done anything else to the storyboard... (In fact, I didn't even know you *could* adjust the size...
) And exactly where are these "little dots in the centre above it"??? My screen looks exactly like yours, only without the cursor.

Re: Storyboard scroll line in VS pro X3
Hi
and thanks from me Ron
I am aware of re-sizing the timelines/preview screen but I must admit I haven’t noticed the curser being affected,
it appears as though the Storyboard has to be viewed in a single row to see the curser, and that’s the way I normally use it, so I usually see the curser.
By the way it’s the same for X2.
you learn something every day

Re: Storyboard scroll line in VS pro X3
Well Thank You Ron for the fix to my question. I really appreciate it. Yes Trever, I've used the forum before, but only when I'm in a bind.
I've just started using VS pro X3, so there may be more questions coming from me. I also want to thank Ron for your quick response me.
All in All, Thanks guys!
