What do you think of these...

Post by themalmo »

Folks,

I'm new to VideoStudio and new to editing/uploading in general. Picked it up as a trial and have been playing with it all week.
I seem to have a interlacing problem when trying to upload MPEG-4HD to Vimeo, but not with non-hd files as seen here.

www.vimeo.com/vorlageskiracing.
As seen when comparing these two
MPEG-4 http://vimeo.com/18762991
MPED-4 HD http://vimeo.com/18761405

How can I fix the interlacing or optimize video quality in general. Is it worth trying to upload in HD at all?
Those video are shot with a Canon HFR10 HD Camera.

Any suggestions??

Really appreciate any and all input.

Welcome to the forums,

I'm just providing some guess work, since I don't work with hi-def video. Are you using the MPEG-4 HD template (Share>Create Video File>MPG-4>MPG-4 HD)? I notice this template uses Frame Based as the field order. To work around this choose the Custom option located at the bottom of the Create Video File menu. Then in the Save As dialog window that opens, for the Save as type menu options choose MPEG 4, then press the Options button. Set up the resolution, frame rate to match that of your video file. Also change the Field Order to match that of your video file, which is most likely Upper Field First. To determine what field order your video clips use, right-click on one of them in the Timeline or Library, select Properties. That will provide you with the settings, including frame size (resolution), frame rate, and the Field Order. If no Field order is listed, it probably is using Frame Based.
