WMV 60fps 1280x720

Post by dannyday58218195 »

Hiya everyone

Im really annoyed at this i dont know wtf am doing wrong - i have corel video editor 12 and i want to create a WMV movie file that is 60fps, about 8000kbs, resolution of 1280 x 720 - however corel simply will not let me do this.
I have tried going into profiles and clicking "customise" however im presented with the same list of usless resolutions all over again without the ability to actually change anything. Ive looked for the profile files in programme files and found them all - but they are in IPF format not PRX - i tried adding some custom PRX files i got from the net but corel still doesnt recognise them - ive tried editing IPF files in notepad but still doesnt work.

can someone please help i am so annoyed and so upset that something so simple can be made so hard!!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe to make custom WMV profiles you must have the Windows Media Encoder 9 Series installed on your computer.

thanks for the rely - however i am abit apprehensive about downloading and installing something that might make things worse - especially downloading something i dont understand.

i have windows 7 installed - and the media player plays pretty much everything, from MP4 to MOV to AVI and MTS files - i dont wanna download something that will stop this from happening. More out of convienance, and more especially because i find quick time a really awful programme :P

plus - everywhere ive googled about this download they all say that its not made for windows 7 and cause cause compatability problems...

what im more confused about is why a company like corel would produce a video editor in this day and age and not include profiles that allow for making 1080p or 720p hd files - instead the resolutions are insanely small - like 200 x 300 - how is that useful to anyone?!

the best option ive found so far was to go into tools options and custom create an AVI profile which did work - but the end file was 34gig which is stupid (with WMV or MP4 i could make the file between 400mb - 200mb which is much more realistic and acceptable) - after producing the 34gig file i used another programme called iskysoft which let me convert the file to MP4 from AVI with end result perfect... just a stupid long winded way of doing things - plus i dont wanna have to keep making huge files to compress when i shouldnt have to (although luckily my pc can cope with doing so - in the long run it cant be healthy for it)

its not only WMV profiles its all MP4 profiles - i cant even edit the resolution again im stuck with stupidly small resolutions... i wanna stick with this programme out of prinicple, i paid for it, and im gonna make it work one way or another...
any further help id appreciate btw!

im a little reluctant to download something i dont fully understand

i found this http://www.microsoft.com/expression/pro ... rview.aspx

it says windows encoder 4 - thats the first thing that comes up when i google what you said

when i try to install it says i need something else to download... something called netframework 4 or something... am i okay downloading this or is this gonna screw up windows media player?

i have windows 7 and the media player already plays AVI WMV MOV MTS - all the files i use... i dont wanna download and install something thats gonna stop that from working...

Hi

Video Studio X2 is capable of creating HD WMV files.

It has :-

Windows Media Video
24 bits, 1280 x 720, 16:9, 25 fps
Frame-based
44.100 KHz, 16 bits, Stereo
Ulead - WMV HD 720p PAL Standard Quality

As a standard template from
Share Create Video File-WMV HD 720

Are you saying you don’t see this option.

Creating 60fps and other frame sizes will require manually creating the template.

So can we first find out just what you see from Share Create Video File - WMV

Hiya again -

if i look under where you said "share - create - WMV HD 720P - this is what it actually shows...

Windows Media Video
24 bits, 1280 x 720, 16:9, 20 fps
Frame-based
22.050 KHz, 16 bits, Stereo
Windows Media Video 8 for Color Pocket PCs (225 Kbps)

you can see the obvious differences in comparion to what you showed...

1) - 20fps not 25fps
2) - 22.050 KHz not 44.100 KHz
3) - Windows Media Video 8 for Color Pocket PCs (225 Kbps) not Ulead - WMV HD 720p PAL Standard Quality

so yes, i see the option, but the result given is no good to me - i record gameplay footage at 30-60fps - if i make the video at 20fps - whats the point of showcasing a pc that can run in 60fps when i end up with footage at 20fps? - 2nd, if i want to create anything else in 1080p - i get the following...

Windows Media Video
24 bits, 1440 x 1080, 20 fps
Frame-based
22.050 KHz, 16 bits, Stereo
Windows Media Video 8 for Color Pocket PCs (225 Kbps)

wtf is all i can say. anyways the point is i want to manually create a profile - i googled windows encoder 9 and instead i got expression encoder 4... anyway i installed it and its made no change and i still cant see how i can not only create my own profiles (which i believe are in *.prx format) but i cant even get the video editor to "see" them when i go to custom create - i get aload of profile such as Windows Media Video 8 for Color Pocket PCs (225 Kbps) but im not allowed to change any settings on them inc. the resolution...

Hi

Strange that you should see those settings…………

Have you manually installed/updated Direct X.
Even though you have Auto Updates manually installing Direct X has cured some strange problems with Video Studio.
There is a post at the top of this forum relating to Direct X.
The latest version is directx_Jun2010_redist.exe

There is another post regarding WMV profiles

I do not think the save profile is a direct VS problem but a Windows 7 and Windows Media issue. I may be wrong.
