Videostudio 8 - crosshairs of photos problem

Post by picman2 »

When I produce any WMV format videos with photos in them all the actual photos have a cross hair line on each photo. There are no cross hairs on any of the videos inserted but only on the photos inserted after making the video. I've added all the updates and I'm just wondering if there is a setting I could change to eliminate this problem?

I'm on holidays using my laptop to produce some videos and I don't have this problem with my desktop unit at home. Hoping someone can help please.

Welcome to the forums! But I am sorry that I cannot address your actual problem. I have to say, however, that VS 8 is positively ancient and should not be working in Vista at all. From memory, the first version which worked with Vista was VS10, and then only with a specific patch. So I would not be holding my breath to find a solution here... (That being said, you may be lucky... )

Hi

and your desktop uses what operating system.?

As a workround, try rendering your project to another video format, I would choose DV.
Then convert the DV to Wmv

Rendering in other formats produces more distortions of photos.
I've produced over 800 videos using my XP computer at home with my videostudio 8 so I may just have to wait till I get home. Its an old version of Video studio but it does what I want for my use. I thought I may have been able to use it on my laptop vista version as well but its not looking good.
