Hi, Ron....yes, you're hearing EXACTLY what I'm hearing.
I'm not trying to render a project but rather just generate a bunch of WMV files and audio only files to post on the web. When I strip the audio from the original MOD track OR render a WMV file is where the problem occurs. However I'd hate to RENDER an entire project using all these MOD files only to learn that the DVD has the same audio skips.
There MUST have been a bug in X2, X3, etc BECAUSE the TBYB version of X4 I just downloaded works "correctly". X2 and X3 also work "correctl" if I render a WMV file or WAV file from an AVI file.

Re: MOD file audio/video
Ron, I'm at my wits end here.
I don't understand why AVI files captured from tape don't experience the audio stuttering yet all the MOD or mpg4 files standard def. files copied from SD card do.
I'm able to burn a DVD but it does me no good with the stuttering audio.
X4 doesn't have the audio stutter problem BUT it fails with the Unknown Error 5 message and never gets to the actual burning process. As per your suggestion, I created an mpg project file and tried X4, but it still failed. I also tried to burn a dvd in Movie Studio but it failed with the same Unknown Error as X4.
It's almost appearing to be a hardware issue but this is fast hardware I'm running with win7 pro and the task manager says nothing is consuming significant CPU resources.
I even downloaded PowerDirector to give it a shot and their TBYB version is so crippled that it's all but useless.
HELP!
