Well, just updated through the internal updater and so far (knock on wood) it hasn't broken anything like patch #3 did. Silly me - I had high hopes that patch #4 would undo the damage that patch #3 did but my Topaz ReMask is still not working.

To add to that my KPT filters are still broken after patch 4.

Thanks, Kathy_9 & Dan. I was going to try Patch #4 until I saw your posts. I'm gonna hold off until Corel gets with the program and fixes this stuff. Sorry your updates didn't pan out.....

Dan's KPT filters are a result of something else. The KPT filters work fine for most other people, including myself even after Patch #3. Kathy's problem is a result of patch #3. The reason that Patch #4 doesn't fix these problems is because Patch #4 doesn't touch the plugins area. So in fact Patch #4 is a very good patch and recommended that you download and install.

Especially if you use Digital Camera Noise Removal, Skin Smoothing, or the Scratch Remover tools. It's made some decent improvements in speed and function.

Don't take the problems caused by Patch #3 to be a reason not to install Patch #4....unless they require #3 first but I don't think they do.

I tried to install Patch 4 on my PSP with only Patch 1 and 2 - and that didn't work. It says that there was nothing to update. So I had to install Patch 3 and get the results that Xenofex 2 don't work. But I also happy about the things that patch 4 seems to fixed. There is one thing that I haven't read here and it's a bug in the Text tool. It's add a space after the last letter and it's not fixed in the last patch either.

Do you mean this ? http://graphicssoft.about.com/cs/plugin ... enofex.htm

If yes, then please keep in mind that even plug-ins are written for program versions and operating systems:

# Requires Macintosh System Software 9 or later, OS X 10.1 or later; or Windows 98/2000/Me/XP.
# Host compatibility: Photoshop 6/7, Photoshop Elements 2, Fireworks MX, Paint Shop Pro 7 (or newer).

Xenofex 2 (AlienSkin) has always works fine for me - until I installed patch 3 and 4. So I better reinstall X3 one more time to go back to Patch 1 and 2.

I have no problems accepting your opinion, however, I can't escalate a problem with a plug-in which was written for PSP7.

Sorry.

I just had to check if it was just for PSP7, here is the link to the site http://www.alienskin.com/xenofex/xenofe ... ments.aspx and it says PSP X2. I have use Xenofex 1 and 2 back to PSP 8.
No big deal about it - I was just curious.

Thank you so much for answering.

Yes! Service [???] Pack number 4!
We are paying for this product, but seems that
Corel is not fixing major bugs in PSPX3, posted in this forum several times.

PSPX3 with service pack 4 is still cutting part of the image, when you select / deselect it (so called bad-famous-pixel-cut-bug), mentioned here:

Main topic:
http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=37706

Video of this bug:
http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=40236

For most people like me, web designers, this is major and very annoying bug, and it's not
acceptable.

Think, that we are all tired posting this again and again, patch after patch and finally nothing will
change, bug still exist.

Not having a patch that fixes certain bugs is not the same as them not working on it. If they come out with X4 before fixing these larger bugs, then it's worth ranting about. Until then, patience is the thing to have. So stop posting the same bugs, they know about them. The forums aren't what reminds the developers about what they need to fix. They have a list. You're not doing any good complaining unless it's to Corel directly.

So, patience. Without proof that they aren't working on fixes, and it's just harder than you would like to believe, waiting is all you really can do unless you decide to change programs.

PSPX3 13.2.0.35 - Win 7 64 bit

I also get the

"No update of your installed software is required at this time"

message when I double click PSPPX3_Patch4.exe. If I search for
updates from within the program, a box appears asking me to "click here"
to download the update. When I do, nothing happens - version remains at
13.2.0.35.

Thank you for Service Pack 4
Was that meant to be sarcastic?

I previously ran 13.2.1.15, I downloaded this new update and installed it, now running 13.2.1.20.

My main gripes have not been fixed either. The guide bug and the Esc key bug.
When I do, nothing happens - version remains at 13.2.0.35.
That is SP2, try installing SP3 first (13.2.1.15), then SP4. Manually, not through the updater. SP4 is 11 MB, somehow I don't think it includes a 42 MB SP3.

But the system requirements don't say "PSP 7"... they say "PSP 7 or newer". Surely this means PSP 7, 8, 9, X, XI, X2 or X3.
Patch 3 changed the way PSP works with plugins and added 16 bit per channel support, but has a bug that broke some plugins like Xenofex and Topaz ReMask.
