Help With Burning Blu-ray Disc with VideoStudio 3

Post by tklein2 »

Hello. I've been trying to find the right tool for this job for over a year (Premiere Elements, Cyberlink, Corel, etc.) and in some way or another, they all let me down (usually during the rendering process). I have an LG Blu-ray burner I bought a year ago (all my software is up to date with the latest device drivers). I have created one blu-ray disc, a very simple one as a test and it works, but I can't remember the software I used. This weekend I tried using VideoStudio pro X3. When I went to the Share tab and clicked create disc, it launch dvd factory 2010 (I think) and blu-ray was not a format choice. I made sure my version (although trial) was fully up to date with all the latest updates. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi Travis

Welcome to the forums….

Video Studio X3 comes with dvd factory 2010 as the authoring program.
Unfortunately this program is rubbish, total rubbish.
Corel have recognised their mistake by providing DVD Movie Factory 7 SE as a replacement. Its available as a free download for X3 owners.
As far as I know the trial version X3 does not qualify.

You can however download the trial version, DVD Movie Factory 7, using that to complete the DVD burn.

Moreover, if I recall correctly, Blu-Ray burning is not available in the trial version of DVD Factory "Pro" 2010...

I assume you are talking about MF 7 Pro since I don't think there is a trial version of MF 7 SE... But that being said, I simply don't know the answer. I bought MF 7 Pro when it first came out at least a couple of years ago, and naturally enough its Blu-Ray capacity was already fully enabled. I am wondering, though, if - since DVD Factory does not appear to have the capacity - whether there are licensing questions which would inhibit the MF 7 Pro trial version from having it as well...?

Hi Ken

I read this from the Corel DVD MovieFactory™ Pro 7. trial download page

“You will be downloading a 30-day, fully functional trial version of Corel DVD MovieFactory™ Pro 7. Thank you for trying Corel software.”

So I guess it supports Bluray burning.
