I am new to PSP and am using a book and PSP help to try to learn it. I am having trouble understanding what Magic Wand Selection does and how it does it. I do not know it is because I am dense, which is probably correct, or the learning sources I am using are inadequate.
Any how does anyone know of another source I can use?
Thanks for the help.

Re: Magic Wand Help Needed
The Magic Wand will allow you to select part of an image, based on an area of similar color (or brightness, etc., depending on the choice made with the Match Mode dropdown on the toolbar). This will allow you to make a change to only the selected area. For example, you might want to change the color of only one item in a picture.
For other sources of help with the Magic Wand or any other feature, you may also want to use the Help menu or the Learning Center. When you display the Learning Center, it will change what is displayed, according to what tool you click.

Re: Magic Wand Help Needed
I've been meaning to redo this tutorial as at the time I didn't have an actual image I could use as a good example but it might be useful I don't know.

If that helps, awesome, if not. Well it's all I have at the moment, wds937 took the rest of my suggestions. XD

Hello trvlnmny,
It appears that are referring to the SELECTION TOOL Magicwand option. you can check the screenshot thati pasted below. Magic Wand tool — makes a selection based on the color, hue, brightness, or opacity of an object. This tool is designed to select an area that has distinctly different pixels than those in other areas of an image — for example, a pink rose surrounded by green leaves, or a dark area in an otherwise bright image.
