Hi

Can you provide your video files properties.
Right click a clip and select properties, what are they?

We can then give correct details for conversion to Standard DVD

HD
To render your project to these settings try, Share Create video file – Same as First video File. This option is not always available depending on the files used.

Don’t worry to much about the Project Properties, although they do need to use Aspect Ratio 16:9, the preview window will display your clips correctly

Darren -- if you are, as I suggest, using HDV as the format, and that is the easiest, you go to Share > Create Video File > HDV and then, yes, select those properties.

Hi Darren

In an earlier post you showed your Project Properties to be NTSC.
Your video file is clearly Pal as it used 25fps.

First can you confirm which country you are in, or whether your TV system is Pal or Ntsc?

When we install Video Studio there is an option to select the TV system, this defaults to Ntsc which has to be changed for Pal users. Here there is an option to select the country.
The installation then provides the program with Pal or Ntsc for its default templates.

So a quick check, Share - Create Video File DVD …….. the dropdown box should show either Pal or Ntsc. Which do you have?

HI Trevor,

In the drop down box where it says dv dvd they are all pal, i am in the uk so obviously need pal. The confusion over my earlier post re ntsc was correct, i was obviously unknown to me converting all my pal footage into the default ntsc format.

Now i have completely wiped my hard drive including operating sytem ie windows seven i have obviously correctly set it up to be uk based pal format.

The ntsc project properties i pasted in on the earlier post now no longer apply unless i am missing something.

Which being honest with me could well be happening or well so my wife says any way, personally i think she's biased.

Thanks

Darren

Hi

Cheers Darren

I was concerned regarding the Ntsc v Pal issue, but you seem to have it sorted.

Ken has given details to create a HD video file in an earlier post.

If you wish to make a standard DVD then you will have to use either the Custom option or create your own template using the “make templates movie manager”, just because of the different field order, you need upper field.

By the way, they don’t call your wife Lynn do they?
Mine seems to have similar ideas to your wife?
